I have never caught a limit of crappie when fishing by myself. But I am learning. I went to my lake Tuesday and was fishing by sun up. At first I could not get any bites, they would just bump the jig or pull the plastic down on the hook, even with attractant on it, and I couldn’t get them in the boat. So after a little while and changing lures a few times, I put on a Berkley gulp minnow, and presto, crappie in the boat. I caught three on the first three drops, and then one more. I moved to the next brush pile and caught two more. Then I went back to my plastic body, a black and green tube with sauce on it and they kept biting. After a few more fish, I went back to the first brush pile and caught more on the tube. By 11am I had 12 nice crappie and 4 good bream, and I had to go home for other obligations. That was the best day I have had by myself. I think I see a limit in my future before to long. I will never give up.
