Nice looking weapon, those single post guides look a little more apt to get bent than the double post guides. I bet the sensitivity will be awesome. I think a Mebaru rod is what I have decided on, do more single pole Crappie fishing than anything, and our Crappie love to bury up in brush. The line rating thing has me a bit concerned so I am looking at 2-6lb rated rods in order to use the proper line and rod to get them quickly out of their hiding places. It seems a good JDM crappie rod will double as a decent bluegill rod also. Good luck with the new rod, I was able to fish a little during all this Hurricane\Rain, hope you can get out soon.
Disco is correct. I would look at some Ajing rods that would more suit what you want to do.

Thanks.....I’ve never had any problems with AT guides bending. The rod is a work of art......but I have come to expect that from JDM high end rods. If I was you....and I wanted a JDM rod for the fishing conditions you described....I would be looking at some Ajing rods.

I love my Yamaga Blanks Blue Current, but the Rockin' Finesse is tempting. :)
I hear you. This has become an never ending thing for me I really enjoy it. My next one I’ve been reading.....discussing....for about 3 years or so.....Evergeen Salty Sensation Limber Tip 610. Supposedly will blow everything out of the water I have already purchased.....it must be a good one.

It’s out of Japan.....but hard to come by. Thought you might appreciate this video of a rod that goes on sale 1 October......thinking I need to try this one too. Amazing bend to be 95 percent graphite and 5 percent glass. It’s at about the 2:35 mark. A 610 rod only weighs 60 grams.

Very nice. The Japanese are wizards with graphite.
I really like that reel seat, too.
How does the Rockin Finesse compare to the Rockin Drift?
They both have great action for crappie......which is no surprise as they are both made to catch Mebaru so I expected that to be the same. The Finesse is a little bit more rigid. The tip top and last 4 guides on the rod are the smallest guides I have ever seen on a rod. I’m guessing here as I have no way to measure them but they appear to be 2.5mm.......the Drift has 3.5mm guides. The Finesse is about 4 grams heavier. The sensitivity is great but it is not the same as the Drift. Fishing the Drift has to be experienced......one can’t explain it. I used the Finesse this past Friday to catch a boat load of crappie. The Finesse really requires a true 2.5# test mono line or less because of the small guides......meaning line .117mm diameter or less. I only had one Mebaru rod left....that being the Drift.......and I wanted another one. It can be hard to find a company that makes Mebaru rods less than 7 feet so I settled on another Tict product. I’m going to wear the roads out Wednesday-Friday chasing crappie with it. My latest video is up on YouTube. I hope to get into some 13-14 inch fish this week.

I bought a Rockin Drift 2 yrs ago off of ebay...was looking for a similar rod since the Drift is close to $600 now...
It’s very close to the Drift. I looked and looked for another brand to try but I did not want a rod over the 6’ 11” mark. What convinced me to get the Finesse was the new Sic-s guides on it. I’m glad I got it. Waiting on Plat to ship my new TenRyu 2018 Lunakia....really pumped about it.

how does it work with plat. I was looking at some of those Gekkabijin jigs like you are using, but it says "We will check the availability to the maker" Do you still add them to your cart or do you contact them about the product?
That 2018 Lunakia looks like a very nice rod I can't wait to see your review of it...
I just add them to the cart. I noticed the “we will check availability” box but so far I haven’t had any issues. I have received 2 orders of them and even though I said in my video they are not practical to fish with due to cost....about 75 cents each......I am ordering more today in #10 hook size. Need to get ready for upcoming Gill catching.

Not sure if it is OK to advertise an advertisement, so to speak, but I have a Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Finesse 6'9" Mebaru rod offered in the Classified Ads subforum. It is not the new model with the SIC guides.
