When I lived in TN I pushed four rods and pulled as many as 8 with Crankbaits. Pushing was done with a three way swivel with one leg sporting a split ring and a duo lock snap. The main line on one leg, a four foot leader (clear 10lb) on the second and a 2oz weight attached to the snap. I still had the swivels and dug them out. I put them on my longline rigs and replaced the 2oz with a 1/2 and out the sides they went. Instead of 60 to 100 feet behind, they are now alongside the boat on 4 to 8 feet of line. I move about .9 to 1.4 and it worked very well, as the original post stated. I can now give 9 cents change when I turn and no tangles. I haven’t tried it but I would imagine that weight could be fooled with to achieve separation in length like 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 allowing more distance from the boat. If this doesn’t help someone I hope it gives food for thought for going out side the box and comfort zone.
