A CHALLENGE TO ALL GUIDES ACROSS THE CAROLINAS

In an attempt to try to help out relief efforts and enjoy what I love doing during my spare time, I am donating 50%, YES 50% of the proceeds from ALL trips booked through mid November. To sweeten the deal, I am also offering reduced rates until then likewise. My goal is to break even with every trip and donate the rest.
Whats going on out East is absolutely terrible, and do to the "real job", I cannot break away and help so this is the least i can do. Lots of personal friends down there that really got hit hard.

Those who personally know me know I do not guide for a living, but take any opportunity to be on the local lakes. Just something i really enjoy doing considering ive fished most of these waters (depending what lake) for 15+ years.

THE CHALLENGE: I (and hopefully others) understand its not practical for every guide out there to donate half of their fare. The challenge is quite simple. Just a portion. It will go a long way.

Obviously it will take AT LEAST a week for the water to settle to the point id consider "fishable".

I can be contacted direct via email located at the bottom of my signature, or PM. Ill normally respond back quicker via email.

My donations will be going to private entities serving Brunswick and New Hanover counties.

Count me in Pete. Most of my time and money will be going to Robeson Co. My mother-n-law and wife's siblings live there and lost almost everything. I will also make a donation to you for your relief fund. Thanks Pete for doing this. My son is on a rescue team in Wilmington now for the fire department he works for. Told them they would be gone for 10-14 days. They had the be airlifted in by the coast guard

I'm not a guide but I LOVE the idea. Let me through this out there. Do you guys want to try and organize a tornament a week or 2 after the clash at high rock? $50 per boat a case of water and 5 can food for the entry fee. 50% of the money and all of water and can food goes to the hurricane victim's and pay back could be 1st 25%, 2nd 15% and 3rd 10% . Big fish $10 and it be 50% pay back rest goes to victim's.

I think it is awesome that you guys are trying to put something together to help those in need (whether a tournament or other contribution) to those who have been so drastically impacted by Florence.

That would be awesome to have a tournament in October, perfect weather, fish bite very good.

Just a thought maybe brand the tournament in the title to draw in as many as possible. Something like "hurricane fundraiser tournment" but once complete, please share so i can share to different facebook groups. This is a great idea.

As much as id love to, i am committed on virtually every weekend in October to king tournaments on the coast unless there is a cancellation of some sort. But good idea. Ill help spread the word likewise

I have been talking with ofishlbizzness and he brought up a great point. What if this tournament was help for the animal shelters affected. Animals are always the last thing we think about in a time like this. I love to help people don't get me wrong but if you seen the news lately there are a lot of donations already for these affected but none are for animal shelters.

Randy I'll defiantly need some help if you and some others are willing. My wife is due Nov 14th with our first child. I don't think it will come early but if it does I'll need some back up. If we do the tournament for animal shelters affected I got some connections with the Davison county animal Alliance. They should be able to send us to the right donation location. If we go for the victims I'll need your help on that seance you know people down that way.

oct 20 is the uwharrie festival crappie tournament on tillery that has been planned for months, and having two tournaments on the same day is not good, oct 6 is the methodist church tourney in high rock and oct 13 is the ftc on jordan/harris, just an fyi

my .2cents id much rather somebody than some animal

I'll do what I can to help as needed, my only hold up is if I would have to work that day since we have worked Saturday mornings for about the last year or so. However things have calmed down some but I'll do what I can to help out!

I like that idea too but I'm going to have to stay close around the house just in case a baby Berry decides to come a little early.

Our second is now 10 months old and everyone kept saying boy but ended up being another girl. I’m surronded by girls but they are healthy and happy so I couldn’t be any happier.

Ok guys here it is , jmo. I'm problem going to get slammed for this but, I think we would have a bigger turn out on high rock. This lake is closer to the multiple county's in NC that were hammered. There are many , many families still with out homes to go to and a lot of farmers that lost a lot of agriculture. I truly believe we would have more participation in the high rock area from people that normally wouldn't fish a tournament. I have family that live in lumberton that lost everything so my heart is going to be for that area, I will fish any lake you all decide to fish and will help in any way that you need me to help

Sounds like time for a new post with election of: Who's in charge, cause, place, date and rules! You got to get it on a sticky from the moderator. Also need to see if Slab will allow donations from other boards.
