I'll be fishing on it next Thursday. Going to visit an old friend and visit some customers while I'm there. Killing 2 birds with one stone.
Only problem is, he's a Ditch Pickle fisherman, so I've got to go buy some crap to fish with for one day. :)
I'll give a report.
:ThumbsUp
Water around 85 degrees and plenty of skiing going on.haven't heard of any good fishing reports.
Caught a few small fish around the bridge. Heard they are about to drain the lake.
Thanks for the report. What are they gonna drain the lake for?

10-4, thanks. When he said drain, I thought he meant like bust the dam drain, like a pond.
It says 2019. You got another year

I wish we had been in my boat. He only has one old depth finder and I didn't know anything about the lake. It looks awful fishy, but since I wasn't the captain, I fished like he wanted to. We trolled around and pitched at cypress trees or grass edges. We fished very shallow. He showed me some pictures of crappie he and his family had caught in the previous years, during the spring. No stringers of fish, just individual fish pictures. Every fish he showed me was a white crappie. If there is a decent crappie population in that lake, the way it's laid out, I don't see why pushing or pulling cranks wouldn't tear them up in the summer. We fished quite a few spots ranging from well below the bridge all the way up to where the river flows in. That upper area looked awful "spider riggy" to me.
It was a brutal day. 96 degrees and 4 fish, but it was good to spend the day with an old friend that I hadn't seen in over 15 years.
96 degrees and fishing shallow? Hmmm. I’m going out to the Escambia river this morning. Bought a new boat and wanting to try this ultrex out. I’ll be vertical jigging brushpiles. On another note I will probably go check Gantt out Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for report.

Don’t pass up Point A just down the road. I am unsure if they have completed work on the dam; last time I was there I failed to research and drove up to an empty lake. Having said that, I have had had a few good days there

Yep. Not what I would have done but when in Rome......
Trey, Point A looked full to me.
I don't know how you folks that live down there handle the love bugs. Those things are horrible. We didn't have them in Troy when I lived there from 94-00. They hadn't made it that far north yet. They're almost to Montgomery now.
Fished from a friends pier yesterday after work.caught 12 crappie and 2 cats on gantt.love bugs were worse last year.
