Got hot as heck out as well this afternoon, watching the weigh in from the comfort of the A/C. Looks like 14.48 in the lead so far. 2.65 big fish, lot more teams to go.
Who’s leading

They just wrapped up, team of Sullivan & Robertson with 14.59. Big fish still remains at 2.65, good job to all who fished the tournament!
What Sullivan Snubbys?

Yes I saw it on Facebook, don't need an account to watch it either. American Crappie Trail - Home | Facebook Attachment 316408
I was not able to find it yesterday, but showed up in my feed this morning. It is now on youtube also. Look under ACT Trail.
Grenada is one heck of a fishery. 41 boats caught a 7 fish limit and the low boat on the totem pole caught a limit
that averaged over a pound and a half each.
Watching the weigh in today. I don’t tournament fish but i have never heard of so mAny fish dying before weigh in. What would likely be the reason. I know the water may be hot but

More than one team did that, got to be alive when you present them to the tourney officials. Small fish simple simon, big fish is a whole nother deal, big time. Been practicing all summer and got it down pretty good but you never know, it was bad hot today, hottest day I have fishing this summer I think
Anybody got a copy of the leader board ?

several areas of the lake had scum floating and bad surface water. When these guys filled there wells they kept that same bad water recirculating all day. Kinda like taking water below the thermacline and filling your well with it. The fish don’t stand a chance in that water. Although I didn’t loose any fish I do believe that’s why several guys lost there fish. If your fish start getting stressed and rolling over it’s not a bad idea to refill the live well and cool your water down.
We lost a lot of fish. Lost every fish and started over 4 times Saturday.
Never seen it happen like that before. At one time I was convinced that my livewells has been sabotaged.
Water temp was good, had release me, fizzed the fish, even have oxygen in my livewells.. still lost fish.
Tried every thing I knew and after talking to others that lost fish seems we all tried all the same things.
All I could figure was it was like Jeremy said.. the scum on the water.
So.. I called a friend of mine that fishes on the Tennessee river chain lakes and catches big stringers of bass during the hottest months at real deep depths and asked him what he does hoping to learn something different.
From talking to him I concluded it was the quality of water.
He said he always finds the cleanest water on the lake during the summer months or fills his livewells even if it takes running to get water before he starts fishing. He said he does not fizz the fish unless he has to. He prefers to clip weight on them and fizz them last resort.
Uses G juice and keep water 65-68 degrees
He went on to say even if he’s fishing earlier in the year on a shad spawn he has to collect water elsewhere other than where he’s fishing the shad spawn at. He said it’s Something about that crap that floats on the water in shad spawn areas will kill them also.

I lost one 2lb fish. I stuck him in the gills and he bled out. I came to the weigh in with 11 fish in the live well . Battery on our scales went down and I had to borrow some scales to cull my fish. Oxygen really helps ! I fished up 3 lbs of minnows the second day. I caught a bunch of fish

We lost our biggerst fish friday and our biggest sat.Our biggest died becsuse of tore gullets, pulling cranks with 100ft of lune out and they swallowed it.We use to have trouble keeping them alive, but now we have it down.We use a 110qt cooler,a power bubbles with 2 outputs,g juice, weighted clips and oxygen with a 0-4 lpm regulator(regulator on 1/32 or 1/8).We dipped our water in the cooler up by the dam with an old tea pitcher and never messed with the water the rest of the day.Attachment 316850Attachment 316851

Oh and with the setup above all our fish where lively like we just caught them when we got to weigh in.

I think our problem was where we got our water. I’m beginning to think it had a very high PH level.

Yep that should have worked,i also poured water on the top of the cooler about every hour to keep ot from getting so hot.At weighin time when you stuck your hand in the cooler to get fish out the water still felt cool,no thermomenter though to check water temp.

We had never lost a stressed fish or weighed in early but we did Friday. We also tried everything and lost our biggest fish of the week and another close to two pounds. We finished 25th and if we hadn't lost those fish we would have been close to 10th; we also lost three hours of fishing and we were on good fish.
