I have a Garmin Striker 7sv. I’m thinking about moving the transducer to the bow. Ideas on mounting? Thoughts on how it will work? Will it scan any at all ahead of the boat or just even with the front?
Thanks in advance

Mounted my 7sv to trolling motor and really like it.
Mine is and I like it there better than on the transom.
That’s great, but can y’all elaborate a little bit regarding my questions above?
Thanks
SH
Sickle Hook it is bow mounted.Atimm693 is correct.I believe you would like it mounted to trolling motor.
Mine are on the trolling motor, and the transom (cv52's). As said above- you can "look" forward by turning the trolling motor. Keep in mind, when you do this, the image will be distorted for a few seconds.
The units (73sv+) came with both transom and trolling motor mounts. Not sure what comes with strikers.
If your transducer will not fit your motor, their are lots of options available.
Might want to test fit / measure it first.
Used a trolling motor mount, pvc, zipties. on my jon boat. Garmin 7SV with GT transducer. Comes apart and can use the Garmin screen anywhere on the boat.
Thanks for you thoughts all.
Drfishduck, when I got my 7SV I got stuck with the Clearview transducer.
I don’t like the CV ducer cause it don’t have down element.
I tried to get Garmin to trade mine for the GT ducer, but they’re not
having any of that
I think you still got a good finder. I got mine off ebay spring 2018 for $420 including shipping.

Sickle hook - have you seen the difference between a CV and a gt? From everything I've read, on this and other sites, only a very trained/Keen eye is going to see the difference.
I don't have the cv, but rather a GT52HW. From the pics here and other sites, unless you are fishing pretty deep you should be covered below your boat position. Rickie posted some graphs/pictorals of how the coverage should be w/o a dedicated down element. HB cores (I think) had this for a long time. Is there any chance that your side by side comparisons were under slightly different settings or conditions? Just some thoughts. I have a spare ducer that I have toyed with selling, just never pulled the trigger. Soon as I do I'll run into a rock pile
