Lake looks awful familiar Kirk
Thanks to some good CDC members I had the privilege of fishing that lake last month. Had a great time and looking forward to going back later this fall.
Nice video but dang y’all kiiiiilling me with the drag!!! No need for drag crappie fishing or at least in Oklahoma. Maybe other states where the they swear by lighter line and all that.
I’m with you Nip. That’s my son in that video and I taught him better than that. I can catch 3 fish while he’s draaaaging it over a limb. He always says he has more fun catching 10 with the creep along method than 100 verticle with Arkansas jigs. He will get back on my boat this winter tho when I start swimming jigs in open water. He is fidgety.

Each of us should not down anyone else's style of fishing. You should make a video and show us how it's done.
As long as he's having fun let em be. Give em tips then let them do it their way. It might prove to even be better.

"With no one talking I had to use Youtube to fill the void!!!!"Must be a lot of crappie tournaments going on now. It gets very quite no pictures or information shared during these times.:twocents Thanks for sharing the video.
Just having some fun messing with my son Minnowtime. Sorry if that seemed offensive. In my family we poke fun at each other if it seems safe to do so. I used to post frequently and just stuck my toe back in the water. Now I remember why I opted out before. Thanks for the reminder.

Just for the record I have loved cast and drag jig fishing since Mark McGuire taught me the method in 2012. I usually employ it at least a bit about every time out. Lots of thumps.

Im with you crappie ciller i took a trip with mark and love the cast and drag i also like setting my drag lightif it pulls a lil i got nice fat one and have learned to slow down the retrieve i like to use 10 ft rods for all vertical fishing and slip corking but love my 7 ft for dragging. Everyone does things diff
Crappie Killer I mess with my son all the time. That's half the fun. He likes to drop jigs and my favorite is spider rigging big shiners so all I hear from him is anybody can catch crappie dropping a dozen big shiners in their face LOL. Sad part is comments made in the past is why everyone stopped talking and the website is dying. Got to where you have to watch every comment you make or somebody is offended and lots of lookers with no feedback.
I wasnt sure exactly what has killed the chats. Kind of disappointing that this great thing we had going is gone bc of sensitivity of people.
Crappie ciller I have always enjoyed your post and the enjoyment you have with your family. Your post was not the one I was talking about. I posted the video because I enjoy watching him on your tube. Someone putting him down did not set well with me.
PLEASE no one should put anyone down on Crappie.com. Sorry if I spoke out of turn.
Part of the reasons there are not many people posting -- is they are not fishing... I took my dog to the Vet for Surgery yesterday at 8 O clock there were only two boats at the ramp on D'Arbonne... at 4 when I picked her up there were still only Two at the ramp and the Lake was Glass smooth all day... there was not a boat in sight for miles
Minnowtime. I appreciate your clarification but hey- this is what men do! We give each other grief for things that don’t matter just for the fun and brotherhood of it. Then when something does matter we are there for each other. Nip was just playing with Kyle and Zeke I imagine. Like me he is grateful for the draggers because they leave more fish in the lake for the real fishermen. We are good MT - no harm no foul.

Planting food plots this morning, mowed the yard, fishing coming up!
Fishonline is right, give it a month and look out.

I watched the U-Tube a second time and got to see something I had forgot about all about , and have never done --- thumping the line and giving slack to dislodge a jig that is hung on wood.... You can bet your U Tube I will start doing it... thanks for Posting
Didnt figure out how to make them bite.
C2 no minners, maybe that’s what they want.

If it's your son your talking about, you as a parent get a BY. Nothing is of limits. Lol One of the perks of being a parent.

Just completed 2 plus hours of training at work to be eligible for our gain share at work. 30% about respect and attitude and 70% don't hurt my feelings. If I'm a slacker you can't call me out. You and the rest of the team have to do my work for me. If I have an idea that stinks you have to like it. If I brag on myself you should pat me on the back and say good job.
Another indicator I should go ahead and retire. Trying to make it another 16 months.

Redge- I can’t figure out you minnow snobs. I keep Arkansas Jigs on the boat until the water temps fall below 60*. Tho I have to admit it’s more fun on jigs and I also admit that you are a lot better at this than I am due no doubt to your misspent youth. Once I get bored unhooking a hundred fish I may just join you in your anti minnow world but for now I’m still a newbie trying to put other greenhorns on fish. Thanks for chiming in peacemaker.

I’m not anti minnow, just don’t have a reasonable place to get them.
Where we buy them the owner counts them individually! Wish someone sold them by the pound down here.
They are a hassle, but whatever works I am all in!
August is minnow month on my lake, usually catch 100-200 fish an outing, you have to weed through the dinks for keepers.

Yeah I don't know why they only sell by the dozen in the city area. The 2 places I use to buy them at now count them one by one. Did find a gas station off Harrah road just North of 10th st about a 1/4 of a mile. The owner would send his son out to get them and I swear 2 dozen would be 4 maybe 5 dozen at a time. Can't say it's like that now as school has started and the kid is probably not at the station as much helping his dad.
Yeah, I would use minnows more if I didn't have to buy them by the dozen. Sometimes, if I'm going to a lake for a few days I'll go to Suchy's minnows in Purcell and buy a pound or two. When I lived at Longtoiwn (Eufaula) I always bought by the pound.
I love having nabatak in claremore close but dont open until 8am kills me got some tonight hopefully they make it having an early start tomorrow on oologah
The Tackle Box on hwy 88 just east of 169 opens real early and is reasonably priced on minnows. Also Tacoma Mart just east of Red Bud Marina on 88.

I post nearly daily on the Texoma page. Once every so many months I get a reply too :)
