Alright boys and girls, get it on your mind. Its 90 days till Food, Fellowship, & Fishing time. Check in time is 3:00 P.M. on Thursday the 8th and check out time is 10:00 A.M on the 11th. We will gather in Lodge #6 again this year. We are looking forward to seeing all of yall once again. I believe the Michigan Crew will be with us this year. This is just a friendly reminder. Hope to see you there. Look for Big Guys in Overalls.

Yes sir, the Michigan crew will be attending. There will be three of us, myself, Just Steve and vbotton (Jeff). Looking forward to meeting the Louisiana gang and learning a bit about catching crappie on Darbonne. We'll be rolling in sometime Thursday and staying at my son's in Calhoun. Look for three guys in overalls that talk funny.
I will start working on poles for kids again for this year... They will be heavier poles for Bass and Catfish --- We Like Kids to Come and enjoy their time at the State Park and visit with Friends they have made. A couple of years ago they had Coons visit for a handout at Doc Waldos cabin

Has anyone considered the Group Cabin? I see it is taken for our weekend.
Right now it can be rented for 2 nites for $678.
I have stayed there once I think and was wondering what others thought about it as a place to stay.
It is obviously the best facility for eatin' meetin's, otherwise I think it could really save some of us some money.
The one time I stayed there I missed the privacy and convenience of having my own cabin.Quote:

WOW That's a little steep for a place to sleep, come on Louisiana gov. WAKE UP...... Is there any alternative lodging available close by?

It does sound like a lot of Mou-Lah ,,, but if sleeping 4 ot 6 people it would take 2 or 3 motel rooms otherwise. then the added security of your boat and equipment while sleeping.... the Cabins are furnished with everything needed for cooking ... it might be steep but worth it in the long run
Yep....what if your traveling by yourself? A couple years ago i even checked around....was wanting to come to that camp.....even motel rooms were high.

The Lodge where we meet and eat is $706.00 for 3 nights. It sleeps 16. It's 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. Basically it is twice the size of a regular cabin. Hey, we big boys need big spaces!!! LOL!!! #teamoveralls
I fished in 7 states last year....the cheapest for lodging was $40 and the highest was $80 per night. Nice clean cabins.

Darbonne motel is close by and use to be 50 a night. If I'm able to go, that is where I will be staying.Quote:

Don't know if I can make it this year or not, but if I can, I will just drive up each day. Cheaper to drive from Monroe than to pay for cabin. I hope to see ya'll there.
I remember the first year I went, I pitched a tent on someone's pad since they had an RV. This slim guy had rented a spot across from us and was just sleeping in his truck each night. lol Old Markham (Fishin Magician) sure could catch 'em, and seems to live an adventure. :)

I have looked at a lots of gatherings in other States and we have more Children at D'Arbonne than any other Gathering. Family Gathering, Fish, Food, Fun... Some even get a Coveted spot in someones Boat that can put a limit of fish in the boat.. People like Prefers Shiners , Paw Paw & Miss Linda, Shadow Make long trips to be with Us And this year Team Overalls of the North will Join Team overalls of the South.. I will Round them all up and send a Picture to " D " ---- Godwin, Famous from Duck Commander always always shows up Loaded with Goodies and some Nice Crappie Poles
One reason the forum is so quiet is that Facebook has A LOT of crappie reports and info now.
