Summer specks

Not a bad day....I was joined by flycaster and pontoon pappy this morning on monroe.... Started out calm but by 9 or so the wind was cranking.... heat hadn't set in yet but the north side of the lake was white capping.... So we called it a day.
Thanks for the fish donation John and Don.... they're Greatly appreciated for an upcoming family fish fry. Between the three boats we ended up with a good 1/2 cooler of nice size keepers. Note the pic of the courthouse flag waving...and that ain't no little flag.... Really enjoyed getting on the water

Enjoyed the time on the water with PONTOON PAPPY and SPECKANATOR.
Was nice to get out and watch the bending of the poles. It has been so long since I experienced the sight of the poles reacting to a bite.:yikes
Did manage to bring in a few that bit on PICO BUNNY BUTTS and SLAB SAUCE.

Got home and went to harvest some golden fruit from the pineapple farm and this is what I was greeted with.
Planned on having pineapple upside down cake tomorrow. Got the pineapple upside down OK.

The water looks to be up about 3' so the average depth of Monroe is 11'... The bite is EARLY.... I was pushing at about 1.2 mph running about 5' deep.....wt was 84*.... Actually a little cool for this time of the year, probably due to all the rain. I like to find 8 to 9' fow and push about 3 to 4' deep....
This is how I fish.... Not telling anyone how to fish.... Certainly not an expert!
Don't get frustrated if you go 1/2 hour or more without a bite.... It's not on fire by any means.... You gotta work for em....I continually change colors and speed.

Thanks! That info always helps. My fishing buddy and I push jigs and cranks... usually a bit slower than you, about 1 mph. But other than that, it seems we fish a lot alike.

Crappie bite all year long, just have to find them when they are not in obvious places.

One nice looking cooler Micah, definitely worth the trip for only a few hrs of trolling, should make for a good dent in your fry needs....WTG guys.

Well it stands to reason if they didn't eat during the Summer they would be petty skinny come fall. I think it is not the fish but the anglers during the summer I can't stand these temps we been having. I been trying to get Tom to put AC on his pontoon boat. Don
