Its hard to get them to bite around this time of year with all the bait fish along with baby frys crappie, bass, and bream they have so much to choose from wat have work for me is that I twitch a jig up and down I think it frustrate them into hit it
Getting crappie to bite when they are suspended is frustrating for sure. Over the years I have found one thing that will work and that is a free swimming minnow, nothing but hook line and minnow period, but getting it down to them that deep ,I do not have an answer for .Maybe some kind of down rigger that would release your line when it reached their depth .But if you can/could get a free swimming minnow down to them hooked in the mouth ,they will eventually grab it , cant stand the sight of a struggling minnow after seeing all the ones they chase running from them. Any kind of attempt to use a small piece of split shot or extra long leader does not ever seem to work for me it has to be free swimming. Then again I am never trying to get them to free swim that deep! Maybe somebody could make a hook with lead filling HA

Ummmmm tried it G
Same situation on lake Jordan, I have heard though, normally short bites on minners verses stronger bites on jigs during the summer.
Sometimes down sizeing works for me but it's not 100%.

Same problem here am finding plenty of fish just can’t get them to commit have tried all the sauces and big to tiny jigs! Ant buying minnards because they dead before you can use em up ! So im pretty much done until it cools down a bit ! They are tons of shad everywhere so I guess they just all filled up on them!

Try soaking a cast net down with 40 or 50 bottles of G sauce and toss it down on them suckers, if that don't work look for the nearest Captain D's rotfl
I've gotten them to hit a spoon when they're not hungry to. I'm with you guys I'm done but I get to Jonesing for that thump. I'm going to try it Saturday evening anyway.

Just an idea to try...If the lake is full of young of the year shad catch some in a throw net and offer them one at a time to your customers....Small hook n small weight along with light line....Good Luck
If that does not work you can always fallback on Snubby's Captain D's idea.....
Lee down size, if they are short striking pinch off about a 1/4 inch of your grub and go with a #4 jig hook.

Snap weights work work really Great! Been using them on summer time walleye and crappies past few years in a pinch when fish are suspended deep with cranks. Quick way to experiment with diff weights to get the bait to proper depths. Precision Trolling App helps a bunch as they show snap weight usage also. :ThumbsUp Less line out to fight the fish than totally all out longlining crankbaits.
I haven't intentionally tried to catch a crappie in nearly a month, but...
White bass are stacked up by the 1000's and they were doing the exact same thing yesterday afternoon. They'd just swipe at the baits as they'd go by. We could see them flash behind the baits. We threw everything in the boat at them. The afternoon before we could have caught 100's of them. We caught 10, seriously in about 2 minutes and tried using them for cut bait. That didn't work out too well either.
I have decided that July and August are great months for having near heat strokes and getting my blood pressure up due to morons driving boats that have no business driving boats.
I think I'm going to get 2 signs made, one for each side of my boat that say, DANGER AREA-TOXIC WASTE TESTING-WATER CLOSED 500 YARDS EACH SIDE OF THIS BOAT.
