I was wondering about the 360 transducers, do they just hook to any unit with the 360 capabilities, if so does it work with Helix 12. I always thought you got unit with the transducer but looking to buy all i see is transducers.

I believe all Helix units can run 360. I went to their web page to verify but got tired of looking. Their new site is weak.
Well, now I am interested. I thought that my Helix 10 mega everything needed a special transducer to show 360. Not sure how to figure it out as I cannot determine that by the website either.

So, I understand I have the capability but do I have to use an additional, or different transducer. Sorry for being so obtuse.

And the nice lady at Humminbird said it boiled down to a choice. Use the Mega transducer that came with my Helix 10 OR use the 360 transducer. Her perspective was that with the 360 transducer one loses the Mega Chirp capability of Side Imaging. I love my Mega SI so am sticking with my Mega transducer. Thanks for all the input.

I have and use both off of my Ultrex on the bow of my boat.
No reason to choose one over the other, when you can have both. Thanks

Hate to say she is wrong but she is. 360 is an add on and as long as you don't do away with you Mega ducer then you won't lose anything. Lost without mine, Lakemaster has done a great job mapping our lakes down here but the 360 points out a lot of swaggs and rises that the card doesn't show.
