I haven’t had time to travel to a lake and catch some slabs yet this summer. That needs to change! But you know the catfishing is good when you have to stomp on the live well lid to close it, and we only kept 5 fish each. Last trip out we caught 32 blues in 4 hours. Talk about feeling the thump! Good times, lol!

Right now the river is too high but usually I put in on the cobblestones by the graffiti wall if I’m fishing mid day. You don’t want to leave your rig there once it starts getting dark tho. Some guys use flam city on the Meramec and run upriver. Some use Columbia bottoms and lock through chain of rocks canal. A word of warning tho, there is a LOT of commercial traffic downtown, barges going downriver are virtually silent and any big vessels steaming upriver make really big wakes, and the river can go from calm to dangerous in a flash!Quote:

I live in Washington so I know how much fishing pressure the Missouri gets. The rod and reel fishing on the Missouri is very dependent on water levels and time of year. I agree that it has been tough with the constant high water we have been seeing.Quote:
