Full moon and heat index is 113 today. Guess I’m a wimp
Full moon and been raining cats and dogs here for the last several days. Stepped in a poodle yesterday:-)! 3 inches in last week alone. Same thing happened during May Moon, Alberto showed up and gave us another earlier dose. Going in the morning if not too foggy. Cannot catch fish sitting on couch.

Rained 2.25" in 24 hours and the next 6 days will hit over 90 with a heat index of over 95. I still might tempt the heat with some early am fishing.
I’m looking for trout tomorrow. Wanted to fish Old Hickory for Gills...shell cracker.....not only is it like chocolate milk from the rain....around 4 inches.....but the lake is up and full of debris.....so off to the trout river I go. But its gonna be hot.

We’ve not had any rain since early may
Temp ( not heat index) was 103 in my shop today. 98 outside.
Don’t think my boat will be moving anytime soon.

Too cold in early spring (with a blizzard) ; too hot and then cold in late spring; and early summer - who knows?!! :dono Go figure...
Yes, the Heat Index here has been running around 105 to 115, just have to be on the water at daylight & load up about 9 AM. Most "stout" folks just can't take the heat & humidity. Seems like the higher the Body Mass Index (BMI), the sweat factor increases at an increasing rate. Acclimation or "being used to it" has a big influence. I have had young men from Europe (Holland, Slovakia & Scotland) attempt to work in the hay field & they totally wilt & take YEARS to become acclimated.
My in laws from Michigan only visited ONCE during the Summer, at least there's a bright side. LOL!
You Big Northern Boys better watch what you're doing or you'll end up in the ER.
I have to work 5 days a week only morning is Saturday older I get hotter it seams
So far it's only 82 with a nice breeze and intermittent clouds. Going out before it gets too hot. Fish will be deep.
Gramps always said bream bite better if you are sweating . Ought to catch a boat load here lately . :popcorn
Just go home. Air temp 88; water surface temp 84. Caught 46 fish after 12pm - mostly decent size sunfish as well as crappie, a few y. perch and 6 bass. Certain soft plastic designs on light jigs worked great in water 4' - 8'. The hits were hard!
Good thing for brimmed hats and cold water!
I worked in Saudi Arabia in high temps for 21 years. I can still deal with it some....but at 67 it is getting harder to take. Our ambient temps were 115 many times.....at 110 degrees the heat index chart stops at 136 feels like. Needless to say it was hot.

I just can't handle it anymore. I wish I could. Plus- I have had over 100 skin cancers removed in the last few years. Mostly small but a few big ones- so take care out there. Bring on the fall.
