Waiting for details... Body was recovered late last night on the Rez...
On the LA board yesterday....somebody posted that a game warden said that he had never removed a pfd or a life jacket from a dead body.
Craig Morgan's son drowned while wearing a PFD... But, you are right, it is rare!
I talked to a Coast Guard search and rescue guy once who was stationed basically from Maine to Alaska. He couldn't count how many bodies he recovered. He could count on one hand the number of bodies he recovered while wearing a PFD.
Tragic!!
Where at?

The victim was Charles Bogan, 46... Ross Barnett Reservoir, near the main harbor... Busy area, but there are very few hazards in the water there...
Prayers sent for his family and friends

sad
Much too young, much too soon, I'm sure by friends and family will be missed so much. Prayers for all those impacted. If you got'em wear'em, if you ain't got'em, get'em. PFD's for safety.
So very sad, and most likely preventable. I NEVER wore a PFD until I started taking my son fishing. I want him to always wear one and if he sees me wearing one, maybe he always will.
PFDs are like seatbelts in cars. With the newer ones, there really is no excuse for not wearing one... All it takes is a bump on the head which knocks you out, and the best swimmer will drown when thrown overboard...
They have not released any more details about this accident, and the news cycle has moved on. Maybe, we can find more info through the local reservoir police dept., so that a similar event might be prevented in the future...
Prayers for friends and family....
