The only report I can post this week is a live from the tractor seat, from the hay field report. I'm getting withdrawals and will be in the field at least til lunch Saturday, so let's hear from the fishermen!

Going early tomorrow, but blue cat jug/noodle fishing, not crappie
The wife and I fished Neely Henry today from 6 till 12. Caught 30 crappie and a few trash fish. Water temps were down about 2 degrees from Monday due to the cool nights we had. We caught them spider riggin the river and creek channels.
I hope to get out Saturday, Crappie or Gills.
I'll let you know where they were, but probably not where they are, LOL! :Rofl
Well....maybe tomorrow. Attachment 305958

I got 60 rolls wrapped after work this afternoon. I hope to finish up by dark30 on Friday. Maybe I can fight the wakeboarders and jet skis for a fishing spot on Saturday. These are the only electronics I got to stare at this afternoon. Not quite the same as my Helix....

Friday morning, I’m going in search of clear water. We’ve had quite a bit of rain and all the rain north of us has things nasty. Hope to post some pics later.

All you good ol boys welcome an OLD friend of mine to crappie.com! We've known each other since we both had a full head of hair. We've been on nearly every body of water in this state killing fish with bow-n-arrows. That seems like a lifetime ago.
Glad to see you finally come out of the shadows and post something. LOL
Welcome aboard Killah
Welcome from Northeast Alabama
Welcome killah ! Lots a good info here to show! Some are truthful, the rest are fishermen and Fisher women!
Thank you all for the knowledge and updates you have given. Trying crappie for a while, been an avid cat fisherman and have bowfished every lake in the Alabama seems like. so now I'm converting my ole bowfishing boat over to a spiderrigging boat. I haven't seen many white perch boats with fan motors on them or halogen lights(old school). I love everyone's pics (that I can see) and learn so much from the small details of them. Ill be posting pics later as soon as can figure that out. In the meantime thank you for a warm welcome!!!
Killah,
You'd be surprised, I do most of my Crappie fishing in the same areas you bowfish!
Maybe one of these guys can tell you why you can’t ever see my pictures, or I can just keep texting them to you. LOL
killah is doing pretty good on his learning to crappie fish. He got into some pretty good lower Alabama crappie last week. He calls em White Perch. I guess that’s what happens when you live way down south like that. :Rofl
That JD looks like a old Bottom line depth finder :Rofl
Not much to report from my end. Tom and Alabama been high and muddy and I struck out twice on the Tensaw with just a handful. Looking for better conditions next week. White Perch [emoji123]. Welcome to the site Killah
Tony I’m thinking about going to 3 rivers Monday ; when you coming back to the west side if the river
Welcome from Weiss Lake Killah.

Well I took some of my family night fishing last night. It was slow for me but they had a great time so that's all that counts. We kept about 30 crappie and a few cats, bass and other trash fish. First time I've used minnows in years and I don't miss them. I'll probably go again with them but don't care for minnow fishing

Sounds like a great trip with the family Glenn!! WTG
Well, I load my father in law up Fri morning (way earlier than i ever get up to go hunting) and head north to the Tensaw area. Water was muddier than i had figured it would be in this lake. Started fishing about 6:00 baiting poles and putting them out. I'm untangling poles handed them to Pop to put them put in the rod holder. he was putting the second pole out and the first pole went under water. First keeper in the boat, elapsed time :01 min. Third pole out, second pole goes under!!! #2 keeper in the boat. Get all the poles out and start trolling. Picking up fish regular enough to consider ourself still fishing. Found some congregated fish in a couple spots had 5 fish on at one time (no keepers). 8:00 Lucifer himself, was fishing on the bank and he said he was leaving. Decided we'd fish our way to this one protruding stump in 15-18' FOW. First fish at the stump was a small one on a junebug/chart. cutlytail something another jig. Then it was on!! 15-20 fish later were out of minnows and ready to leave.....again not a single decent fish.. Ended the day with 7 white perch in the boat and one stud gargleye. Fished in 12-15 FOW with most fish at 8-10 deep. just using minnows predominantly. Hung into a few gar naturally. Oh remember that spot we started out in, it was 20' deep way away from the bank, yea i never went back there. Never claimed to be smart.
That sounds like a real good day of fishing to me. We're just learning how to catch crappie. We'll worry about catching big crappie later.
A few weeks ago another buddy and I went up towards Hubbards Landing and caught about 70-80 in 2 days of fishing. 80% were 8-8.5" long My buddy said he wished the state would increase the size limit and I was wondering if the reverse might not help. Well the biologist side of me wonders if this is just a really strong age class of fish or if there was some stunting of growth due to the large numbers. Like a bass pond will do if you don't keep the number of mouths at the table down. Any other Delta fisherman notice the large number of 8" fish? Or is it the larger fish are in a different area that I'm not finding? This probably should be another thread but oh well.
Yeah, if you want answers to that you'd probably need to start a thread. People ain't gonna click on a thread I start but so many times. LOL
Welcome Killah.Fur Flyin is right it's a deep south thing. They are White Perch.
