My garden doing is good right now. But already watering the garden and May is not over .Spring weather was crazy , stayed cold too long . With the wild swings in weather who knows what summer will hold . Creek behind my house where I keep bait (Bream ) for Catfishing and sometimes fish I don't care to clean right away is shrinking . With temps nearing 100 and not looking good . Think we might get another summer like the drought of 1980 ? :dono
As history serves, any time we get a lot of water in part of the year, it's dry the other part. Hope it doesn't happen. Even
though my garden was put in late it is looking like one of the best I've ever had. It was looking good last year and we got
a 20 minute hail storm. It produced but looked ragged all year. Whatever happens we'll work with it.
Hopefully we wont get a drought, it does seem that we will have a Hot summer.

Reason i ask, i worked with a guy from Camden that would come by the house after we cleaned a mess of fish and get the guts for his garden. He said that and triple 19 fertilizer was the ticket.

I probably would need to guess amount of fish in tons not lbs last 20 years . I also use poultry litter or livestock manure about ever year .

I'm adding some of the "Super Soil" that is produced near the airport in LR, to my clay and rocks. If you can get past the ingredients, it sure looks like good stuff. I'm flying back from a conference today and plan on stopping and getting a yard of it on the way home. Anyone ever use it?
I might buy some of the composted leaves but if it is the dredging from sewar ponds it would have too many contaminates . Not sure what your getting .Quote:

Contaminants are killed with heat, so they say... I incorporated it into part of the garden spot today. I liked working with it and the porosity it added to the clay is very pleasing. We’ll see how this goes, but for the truckload of material for $30 for this additive seems like a good investment.Quote:

Nimrod,
May be a dumb question, but how do you work in fish scraps& guts( I presume). Only in non growing season( or in other words before planting of veg in given spot), or do you mix it in soil while growing the veggies? I presume you selectively add fish waste to small areas that are fallow? Thank you halibut4me.

Nimrod, did you get any rain last night? We had a heavy rain and small hail storm come thru and dump about an inch and a half.
