Questions on pulling cranks with braided line
I started pulling crank baits 2 yrs ago and have never lost so many as I have this year, 13 so far to snags and mostly to garfish. Ive been using 10# mono and thinking of switching to a braided line. Are any of ya'll able to save some of the baits using braid, thinking I might be able to streighten the hooks when hung on a snag by pulling it loose. The teeth on the garfish is another problem with mono. The diameter of 20# braid is close to 10# mono, is that overkill?

If your loosing them to fish it's prolly just them cutting the line.... I was running into the same thing so I just tied up a bunch of two foot braid leaders fast snap on one side and barrel swivel on the other! Works like a charm

I didn’t ask why you switched. I asked if you know what a drag is for.....lol
I landed a 25lb flathead, in the spillway, on 6# mono once.
