Need a mechanic. 7 years old and first problem today. Won't run long. Act like it's killing itself on purpose. To much electrical stuff going on. Any body know where to take it for service.

Boat Wharehouse. Southaven . Ask for JP . He's the resident Johnson/Evinrude Tech. I've been pleased with their work.
Ok I will call them up.
After mine quit 7 times and required a trip to Doniphan to have air blown back through the water discharge I traded it for a 20 merc. Lost about 5 mph but it will make it back to the ramp. So far.

I bet trash was trapped in the computer and causing the computer to overheat. It was pretty common to have them shut down, internet has beaucoup stories.

I saw a ton of stories on the internet. I think it's water pump related. Never had a problem in 7 years. The boat warehouse in south haven doesn't work on evinrudes any more. Iam calling crappie depot tommorow to see if they do.
If a boat dealer will not work on a motor that says enough about that in it's self says enough about that motor!

Don't know why boat warehouse is not working on evinrude anymore. He just told me there selling everything off. Crappie depot in batesville said they sell them and work on them. Midway in Tupelo does also. I bought the motor in Augusta AR. I would go there but looking for something closer.
Went by crappie depot and got a bad vibe about that place. Called midway and they seem spot on. Same with white river in Augusta AR. Midway is 90 miles closer going to give them a try.
Gotta watch these boat places that's for sure, pretty bad a man gotta drive a ways to get a motor serviced. Good luck!
I like them enough to buy there ,I would take it back there . I personally will pay more (within reason ) for a product from a reliable dealer.
Didn't know midway was a evinruide rep? If that doesn't work out , I really like B and B Outdoors in Henderson, TN . They are Evinrude, Yammy , and Merc . If they weren't so far away, they'd be my choice .
Do tell what’s the deal with crappie depot?
I have used Band B several times For Warranty work on a Yamaha . They were very reasonable, fast and prices were good . Mississippi Marine in Tupelo had gone out of business and Others in my area do not understand me . lol I like it to be fixed the first time at those prices . :juggle longer drive to Henderson from New Albany but worth the trip .
