$.25 a minner is ridiculous.. it’s almost more expensive for me to bait 16 hooks than it is to drive my boat!

Wow! You'll go broke fishing Enid with all the shorts!
Captain D's three piece dinner would be cheaper . lol :yikes
He was $3.99 a dozen for large last time I was in there. I told him that was way to steep, but we came to an agreement, he let's me dip my own when I go in there. I figure a pound for $12 is a much fairer price :biggrin
Pound for pound, they're more expensive than the bluefin tuna they catch on Wicked Tuna!!!!!
Large are $4.99 a dozen at the Outfitter .
I am almost done with minnows. They get much higher and I’m gonna give em up cold turkey!

They will be like cabbage prices. They start dying of old age ,things happen .
Came thru Hernando awhile ago and they got the sign up for the new store hung on hwy. 51 across from the old Tadpoles location. I was hoping it would be a different owner then the one on 301, but it's J & J's One Stop #2 Bait & Tackle. Doesn't look like minner prices will be reasonable in Desoto county anytime soon. I will have a vat by September that I can assure you.
I get mine from Loenoak, AR, have to drive over there or ship FedEx

Usually one trip does me for the year, got a good 100 gal van if u need it Snub

One of you guys with a vat, walk me through building one. I have a spot. Just need the knowledge.

I need a resupply of the Big Salty,s if anybody is going to Loanoke. I have an extra 100 gal vat with a 1/2 hp pump for filtering & aeration. This vat has an extra sump section for filtering like on a BIG aquarium. Works great, cuts down on changing water & death loss.

Thanks for the offer, I have the 55 gallon drum, blue plastic. Just need to acquire the air pump etc. How much does it cost to have them shipped via FedEx? I'm sure it is cheaper then fuel and the round trip involved, and do the minners arrive it good shape? I've worked out at FedEx and seen the way they treat the packages :Rofl
Use jigs, they work fine!
Jigs sprayed with Slab Sauce....The Sauce with the garlic works the best.
5 - 10 lbs shipped FedEx about $100. Daughter works there now, got some stories! LOL, where u there when the fighting rooster was loose? Python got out once, that was as bad as the rooster

USE JIGS AND SAVE MINNERS . NO MINNERS HARMED :Rofl
Yea that new store on 301 is a joke I hate walking in there. Outfitters is no better. Shame Tadpoles went out.
use a jig with a nibble and be done with it. if you put the bait where they are, you don't need a minnow.
Go to the Shell station in Oakland. They let you dip your own and don’t care how many you get. They watch you do it. Good place to get bait and do business. Tell em 5 dozen and dip 8 dozen. They don’t want you to count em. It’s considered a loss leader to them.

Strongly disagree with this

Yes the Hub, herding folks around! LOL!, Fed Ex has got to be a Chinese Fire Drill shore enuf! It's a wonder anything gets anywhere from her stories! But somehow they get it done! The US Postal contract is the big deal.. Federal Law applies out there..
Never worked out there as an employee, just go out there every now and then and do subcontractor work. The rooster wouldn't have bothered me, every thing we do involves water, recon just turn the hose loose on em'. The python I may could out run, lol. And dang $100 bucks to ship 10 pounds of minners, wonder what it cost to ship a horse and where would you put the shipping label? :dono :Rofl
How much you want for that vat?

Well don't go to outfitters. Bought 4 dzn large today and the biggest ones were the size of my finger. The only thing big about them was the price.

Outfitter's was a good place for minnows for a long time. Even Spring of 2017 they were still ok. I wonder what has changed with them? If people quit buying minnows there, I bet they'll straighten up.
From what I've been hearing, everyone selling minnows around Butla is about the same....poor count and high prices.
