Fishing Reports - the year so far!!!!!!!
Haven't had a chance to post on here like I have in years past, but I have still been fishing. Overall it has been a banner year so far in both numbers and size of fish caught. Have fished Greenwood, Murray, Clarks Hill, and even took a 4 day trip to Santee in March (Santee was by far our worst few days of fishing, but did catch quality fish). Caught a few tightlining in early January, but since the end of January our method of choice has been longlining, with deciding to cast jigs for a small tournament that we fished this past weekend. Have fished 4 tournaments this year and have been blessed to win 2 of them (it had been a few years since we won one), with our worst finish being 5th.
Our most recent trip was this weekend my uncle and I fished a local tournament on Greenwood and probably had our largest summertime stringer on Greenwood in several years with the top 7 weighing 11-8. All fish were caught in 10-20 fow jigging or casting to some type of structure. I fish year around but this time of year has come to be my favorite time of year to fish (I know I am in the minority here). I love to longline, but it is hard to beat that one pole thump.
