I showed a friend this thread. It is truly a monster fish and is most likely a record setter. My friend and I talked about what we would do had we landed such a trophy........You surely would want a photo and you would want others to actually see the fish so they wouldn't think you were lying, but I hate to see that fish dead in a basket. My friend and I agreed that we would have let the king size krappie go. GTT

I don't know how long the average life span of a crappie is, but I would suspect that one may be near the end of it. My thought was, could I get it to an aquarium somewhere in time for other people to see it.

That is a whopper...

Impressive, but what would impress me more is those fillets with cornmeal on them and fried, with some fried taters and some slaw and a slab of onion.

That's one NICE fish. Good job.

An article in Tennessee said he caught one at least that big some time back but it went to the dinner table. He must have realized after the fact that he should have weighed it.
Second time was the charm. Both caught from the same pond.
