If I had that place (or any place on the lake) there's no question where I would be living from the pictures you have a really nice place.
we have a permanent home and a weekend place on Lake and talked her into "summering" there instead of just the weekends. only 35 minutes from home but that is where the pontoon and the water and new friends are.

If I lived at the Lake, I'd get fired and that's pretty bad because I work for myself.
It would be best if it was your wife's idea. If subtle hints about problems with living in the city don't spark discussions about alternatives I would be cautious.

I have lived on lake Murray for going on 28 years and have loved every minute of it. I will be here until they haul my dead butt of in the back of the corners van. Your wife sounds like she could care less about the lake so it is going to be hard to convince her to live there.
