Good Luck. Finally 70 degree weather next week.
Went up today. Not a hit. Wind and rain chased me off after an hour. Maybe next weekend.
The weather will be way better starting next Tuesday. The weekend not so much.
Was up on the north end yesterday and today. Six yesterday and ten today. Yesterday gills and perch almost non stop for awhile. Today only one small perch. Yesterday the crappie wanted the jig moving . Today , deadsticked got the hits. I will say todays fish were nice, all 11 to 13 " and really thick . Not fast action but definitely quality. Nasty day today but still better than sittin in the house..
I'm ready to go now but I have to work today. Thanks for the reports.
Went back up today. Nothing out on the main lake. Went to a well known shallow bay and did well. The fish seemed to be right up into the lily pads . Some were already starting to get their spawning color. Surface water temp was almost into the 60's. They were really slammin the BG albino shad with slab sauce. I'll say this about the sauce, it doesn't hurt. "When they hit it they didn't let go . Fishing two rods out of the yak , sometimes I'm pretty slow to make the hook set. Good luck this weekend..
I was down the south end of the lake and not a hit. Water temp was 47 on the main lake. Did find 49 in one bay. Talked to 2 other guys coming off the lake and neither caught anything. Only saw 5 boats all morning long.
Just remember they changed the limit on keeping crappie.
Caught one walley Friday. Nothing on Saturday. No crappies. Want to try it again in a couple weeks.
Next tripn fish the shallow bays up north 2-5' of water. The best advise I can give you is. If your not catching, just keep moving till you start catching. I have close to a dozen spots and sometimes I have to hit 3 or 4 before i find active fish.
Hit the lake this morning in the fog. Trolled up the lake for eyes at daylight. Caught 2 crappie and no eyes. Stopped at a mid lake bar and caught 3 more trolling a jig and tail in 10 fow. Hit my go to sand bar and it was non stop for 45 minutes, couldn't keep 2 poles in the water at the same time. First cast a 13 inch perch after that crappies galore. Kept 11. Those plus the perch filled 4 quart bags to the top. Added,a,bonus eye caught trolling in 17' on the way back to the ramp.
Fished Linesville stumps for the last two days. Put two limits of big crappies in the boat today and two yesterday. Been taking sportswriters out all week and having a great time with each one I’ve fished with. Tuesday we took twenty good crappies from Shenango lake.
Thats some pretty serious fishing. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Heading up this Friday. How's the fishing?
Fantastic. We took 34 crappies and 25 bluegills Saturday. Everybody that knows how, is catching plenty of walleyes too.
