Cottonmouth. Head is triangular depicting poisionous, but like Boat... said, eyes will tell the story!
Water moccasin!/ cotton mouth looks way too dark and too fat to a water snake to me :twocents
Looks like one of those kind that he feel in the floor of my little two man then he just commandeered a new to him scamp  rotfl
Bad snake..Still alive
Yikes. They don’t bother me as long as I see them first. I did about reach up to hold onto a stump w a limb two years ago and about jumped out boat. One as 3 feet from my face.

Copper headed Rattle Moccasin! Shoot it!
Kind of what I was thinking. We left each other alone. Probably as tired of the cold as I am.

In Arkansas there are 2 species of snake. If it has rattles, it's a rattlesnake. If it doesn't have rattles, it's a cobra.

Friend of mine always said " If God had meant for us to get along with them he wouldn't have named them snakes, only good one is a dead one"
Amen.
Cottonmouth
Maybe more than one I would be standing there with a empty gun and he would have a lot of holes in him

The kind I get the heck away from in a hurry.:witching
2 options, Stay away or kill. Picture is not sharp enough for good estimate, but looks like a viper head, like a moccasin. I personally leave them alone, UNLESS!!
that's the one's that make you shiz'nt in your waders if you get to close.
I really dislike cotton mouths they are aggressive and you usually encounter them when getting away quickly isn't an option. The little rattlesnakes and copperhead we usually see in Missouri don't bother me. I have only seen one timber rattlesnake in my life and it was not aggressive. Cotton mouth may be the only snake I would kill just because I saw it.
No doubt on this one...

Also remember that just because it is dead or you think is it can still be poisonous. The head still has poison in it. So "CHOOT IT" an then leave it along.
hate to be a downer Debbie but snakes aren't poisonous. Venomous , yep. Poisonous, nope.also, I am not so sure that's a cottonmouth. Some watersnakes have a head shape close to a delta but not quite. Picture is not clear enough to be sure.Attachment 298277
The water snake is nonvenomous and harmless to humans, but superficially resembles the venomous cottonmouth and is often killed unnecessarily as a result of this mistaken identity. The two can be easily distinguished by morphological traits: the water snake has a longer, more slender body and a flattened head the same width as the neck, round pupils, and no heat-sensing pits. The cottonmouth has a fatter body, a wedge-shaped head with prominent venom glands that is wider than the neck, cat-like pupils, and heat-sensing pits between the eyes and the nostrils
An ol bud of mine would have just reached down and grabbed him, pulled out his pocket knife, and cut its head off in that order and never give it a thought. Not me for sure.
3 kind of snakes I’m afraid of: live snakes, dead snakes, and sticks that look like snakes.

Take your wife on a fun, cheap date. Look at how much fun this gal is having.https://youtu.be/yno7JiQH7oA
Note how some have triangular heads that could get them shot in these parts.
