Black
Pink
Clear water firecracker, monkey milk, and patriot, stained water outlaw special, black, watermelon seed and smoke have been good to me this year
One color doesn't do it. Natural colors that mimic a minnow do well a lot of the time, shades change with water color. Black and chartreuse is always in the box alongside of the pink and chartreuse. Local folks can fill you in on their favorites but those should get you off the ground.
What color jig head do you use with monkey milk? Thanks

Black white chartreuse any color that goes with white .
I live on arguably the the best crappie producing lake in the nation for 38 years ( actually since it was impounded ) ... My family owned the first marina on Truman , at times in the 80s we had 15 to 20 guides a weekend working out of our marina . Some might say the "hay days " but the lake was never stopped producing crappie , winter spring summer and fall ! Over the years I have witnessed the progression of crappie fishing ( and fishermen ) and the trends , fads and technological advances but one thing that has not changed to this day .... Black & Chartreuse jigs produce more consistent than any other color !
Don't know why and not in the business to try to change any one else's mind just 38 years of observation from this particular location !
You can't go wrong with black/chartreuse, but been catchin' a lot on monkey milk the last year or two.
What color is monkey milk?
