Can you use super glue for thread cement?
Yes....
Or fingernail hardener.
Yes you can but don't get it on your painted head it will make it cloudy. Or the one I tried did. I will just stick with waspi head cement.
I use Sally Hansen Extreme Clear for all!
I've been doing the dental floss method to hold my plastic baits on and I've been covering the heads in dollar tree nail hardener.
I use Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails.
I make tail ties that get mouthed a lot and use UV glue. This type of glue is very hard and very durable.
Thanks guys. I use it to also guy the eyes on also. I can see a little cloudy color in the eyes though. Think I might swap to nail harder.
What's up with the dental floss ?
Check out the Just for beginners...or veteran fishermen. GREAT VIDEO INFORMATION in beginners forum.

But yeah I use nail hardener. I don't paint my jigheads but I've learned it keeps the lead from oxidizing.
Some people use super glue on the threads in both jig & fly tying. I recommend against it. Super glue absorbs into the threads great but once dry is very brittle and will cause the threads / materials to break. A good head cement, including some of the old favorites (lacquers & spar varnish) work just fine.
Buy some Clear High Gloss Lacquer and some thinner and mix it like 50/50 and use that, I do! I use MEK thinner.
