Lol, I’ll make sure I’ll bring one to camp you can snuggle up to while your sleeping.

What kind of snake is that, I was fishing Santee cooper a couple years ago and one that looked just like that one fell from a bush about 5 feet from my boat, I just assumed it was a cotton mouth from being so far south, so if anyone knows, what kind is it. Thanks

The one in my photo? It's a corn snake. The snake you saw on Santee Cooper was most likely a harmless water snake in the Nerodia genus (not sure which species and subspecies they have over there) or a harmless rat snake. Most people think any snake in or near water is a cottonmouth ("water moccasin") but they rarely are in most areas. I go out intentionally looking for snakes, and I see 20+ harmless water snakes for every one cottomouth.
Poor water snakes ! With that white patch in their mouth I’ve heard all my life that they were moccasins till I actually seen a moccasin his head is way bigger and sticks out the water 2-3inches or more compared to the water snake that barely pokes his head above the water unless he is climbing out.
Boom boom boom
Rule of thumb is any snake in a tree is non poisonous...Keeps me happy.
Fur i'm with you. Lead makes them all harmless!
Three drop from a tree. Lee flee tree. :hatchet:
This warmer weather has sure brought them out.
