I was hoping to get some input on which line ppl are using to spider rig with. Do I stick with my ole faithful 6lb test or do I step it up to 10? Mono or braid? Hellllpppp

What kind of water do you fish? Deep clear reservoirs, or shallow/stumpy/stained/muddy lakes? I fish 8 lb most of the time, as I don’t fish any clear water at all. I like to be able to straighten a jig head hook out rather than break it off, and I can typically do that with 8 lb PLine. I’m trying braid out on a couple of poles, spooled them up a couple weeks ago, but have only fished once since I did and didn’t get on much so I can’t give an honest assessment on the braid yet.

10# hi viz for me, I like Sufix or Kast king. Braid is ok but you can't undo tangles!! Almost always have to cut.
I stick with Sufix 10lb hi viz monofilament. Mono does better in brush where braid cuts into the wood that is submerged. Mono also doesn't wrap around the rod tip like braid.
I like 8# hi viz yellow mono. It has worked in clear to muddy water for me this year.
I'm a braid guy, I use either regular braid or the fused line like Fireline. I fish 20/8 lb most of the time. No kinking of line, no memory, small diameter cuts through water better than mono. Strong enough to land about anything that I hook. I use 12-14 lb folorocarbon for my leaders so more abrasion prof than mono and harder to see. With the braid one big plus is you can fill reel with cheap mono and just add 50 ft of braid. One spool will fill all your reels, and you never have to change it. Braid does not degrade or wear out. Saves money in the long run.
I use 8 lb hi viz mono on all my spider rig poles.
8 or 10 hi vis mono.
