Been experimenting with different styles and shapes and stem lengths and different stems I currently use bamboo and Carbon Fiber and Stainless steel stems ...Was just wondering what are you favorite styles and shapes for Crappie fishing

Man, those look great- I like a little more white, other wise perfect.
Thank You trypman1
Thanks for sharing. I use the smallest Thill slider corks I can find. Probably 1 1/2" when cricket fishing. I turn cork handles for my surf rods and I just use various grades of sandpaper to get the shape I want. I use a drill and a homemade mandrel out of threaded metal rod. Float turning out of balsa might be a new hobby to try.

VERY NICE !!!...Pompano Dan
Pompano Dan...Always wanted to learn rod building I make rod rapping bench Attachment 294028
Whew! that is beautiful custom work. I am using a basic entry level device. You would enjoy rod wrapping and would be excellent based on your attention to detail. I am a novice wrapper and just wrap a few rods for my personal use. I really enjoy catching bream and specks in addition to Pompano. I am going to buy some balsa wood and make my own slip corks now Thanks for sharing

really like the work...wooden tackle box and all. Rod handles look pretty spiffy as well. I really like your lathe set-up in the pick. mind if I ask what brand? thx.
Thank you. I found this "Hobby Lathe" at Grizzly.com. Another good place to look at these devices is Mudhole.com. Mudhole has the cork rings and instructions as well.
You guys shops are way cleaner than mind, good work. I like 3/4" teardrop floats.

I am working on the balsa floats and man is it a learning curve. I am not using stems but I will have plastic tube inserts so that the line can slip through the cork with rubber stops. I have turned a few crude floats and working on getting the finishes right before I get the shape right. Ordered excellent quality balsa and I am using different grades of sandpaper to shape. I am curious as to how you got the white stripe. Is it paint or a decal? Sorry about the photo sizing and orientation<img src="https://www.crappie.com/crappie/attachment.php?attachmentid=341631&stc=1" attachmentid="341631" alt="" id="vbattach_341631" class="previewthumb align_center size_medium"><img src="https://www.crappie.com/crappie/attachment.php?attachmentid=341632&stc=1" attachmentid="341632" alt="" id="vbattach_341632" class="previewthumb size_thumbnail">
