A huge thank you to SlabSlinger

I just wanted to publicly thank SlabSlinger for his friendliness and hospitality! I posted on this website that I would be coming to Vicksburg, MS for work last week and was contemplating whether to pull my boat or not. SlabSlinger sent me a pm and told me that he would be glad to show me around if I pulled my boat down. I couldn't believe that someone would take the time out of their schedule to do this for a stranger, but his generosity didn't stop there. He ended up offering to let me park my boat at his lake house, clean my fish at his cleaning station, and even offered to let my friend and I stay at his place. I can't thank him enough, but I wanted to make this public and show that there are still some great people out there! If I am ever given the chance to do this for someone else, I sure hope I take time out of my schedule to do so. Thanks again!!!

There sure are some great folks down there! We had a very good couple days! Very nice lake with some beautiful crappie!

Don't doubt the hospitality at all, I got the pleasure of meeting him last year at the Barnett spring camp and we talked about a half hour or so. Good people, but hey I haven't really ran into any bad ones from this site yet! Glad you had a good trip and very kind of Slab Slinger to help out a total stranger like that.

There are some great guys on this site for sure! This is the first one I have had the pleasure of meeting and it was such a great experience! I hope to return the favor one of these days, but I don't see many people driving from MS to MO for crappie. Maybe I will get to pass that act of kindness on to someone else.

Dangit slanger. You know better. Them Yankees are worse than cats if you feed em. Now they are your responsibility. Just make sure their shots are kept up to date.

Aw man. Just looked and this one is from MO. Them is the worst. That's where Speck is from and we'll never be shed of him. He's like yankee kudzu.

What a small world. Was getting gas today and parked next to a nice War Eagle. Guy comes out and turns out it was the now famous Slab Slinger. Had a nice chat and he gave me his business card and said to look him up. He doesn't know it yet but that may have been a mistake. :biggrin Nice guy.

You got that right! Honestly, those crappie were not the highlight of my trip though. Getting to meet someone that shares the same passions and values as I do, and someone that was so kind to a complete stranger, that is something I will always remember. Thanks again my friend!
