Me no got one ...
Rickie
Yes, easy to connect, able to move it to gps so I can see Smart Strike, speed, etc. while traveling. I just need to refocus on which screens I want to pre program.

The RC 2 has built-in dongle , correct? Are you running one on the bow?
Connects directly with Bluetooth and yes, Helix 10 on bow. I really like it, again, because after recovering my Ulterra I can remotely change screen to GPS from behind the console allowing me to look at lake view, Smart Strike locations, and other aspects of the transducer once out of the water. No dongle necessary like the first series. Same price.

I have one and two of the RC1's.
The Dongle that comes with the RC1 is the receiver for the remote, the RC2 has no dongle - that receiver is now built in the PCB of the more capable G2N's whereas the G1's had the dongle as an add-on.
If I am @ the wheel and I want to change views on the bow, the remote is handy to have.
The buttons have a default setting, but are programmable too.
I do not change the defaults because I'd have to pull out more hair trying to remember how I had each set up when a battery change is needed. LOL
Can you take snapshots with the remote?
Simple answer is ... I'm close enough to the units to push the buttons on the unit(s) ...

Carl is using the Solix/Onix platform, IDK if that makes a diff. Rickie...
Shoot I should send you one (RC1) to goof with for a while.

Thanks Rickie!

He just wants you to have one so you can figure it out and lead us sheep in setting ours up and using it more efficiently (wry smile). I would also send you one just for this reason.

I hear ya - I only really dink with it if I'm running & I feel I need to "change the channel" up front. (usually GPS Map)
I roll like Rickie rolls, my memory ain't the bear trap it once once, it's more like bear cr@* now....LOL!
Maybe if I can trade jobs someplace/sometime soon, I would have more grey matter that would retain all I think I have forgotten...
You can at least see by the remote PDF instructions it's programmable - the Helix units have a lot of the options, I have 4 displays, so anything I might want to see at one station or the other should be available on two...NOT always!
I've been siting on a block of ice the past few months (duck huntin' thru a chimmlee), if I get the boat rigged back up & OTW soon, I will try to clear some cobwebs and see what I have going on maybe even take a pic or 3...
If I know it and I haven't lost, misplaced or forgotten it - I will share with anyone I can help out with.
Just like Rickie always does.
