Has anyone used their revolution x bobber? They look nice in pictures. Balsa float with the ability to take it on and off without rerigging? I am currently using ESB bobbers now, but since I had rather feel the thump than watch a bobber I find myself cutting and rigging a lot.

I have used floats a lot like those and I do like them. One guy from Texas is a big fan of that kind of float and I'm sure he will chime in on it as well. He may have even used the brand to catch a few.

How are you fishing? If you're jig fishing, I wouldn't use a float.Quote:

Old Ketchn is a float and fly pro that's who I was referring to. There are times a float and jig is the best presentation. All float are for different applications to that's why there's so many different kinds. I use about 6 different kinds depending on the need that day

I'm not trying to tell anyone how to spend their money, but several of those are $1.89/ea or $3.99/2pk. And the others are $2.09/ea and $4.49/2pk.
2 x 1.89 = $3.78
2 x 2.09 = $4.18
I found these and like them. You can put them on and take them off without retying.

Slip Bobber Fishing | Fishing Tackle
Seems like every year or two someone comes out with a "new" fail-proof bobber that is "better" than anything else you've ever tried. I bought a kit of the "wing" bobbers a couple of years ago. Always seems like I go back to the Thills.

Yes I agree nothing is fail proof. I've used the thill crappie corks, but I had one melt in my plastics box. Since then I've went back to the Everlasting slip bobber. Similar bobber just made out of styrofoam instead. They both make quality floats.Quote:

I generally use the Rod-n-Bobb strings. I love the split plastic sleeve. It lets me complete all of the assembly before securing the stop. I have had some issues with the stops coming loose though. Last fall I contacted the factory and they said they were making changes to the string material.Quote:

I also use the slip lock bobber and it is my go too for vertical jigging. I like the medium size with a weight about 6-8 inches above the hook. I also like the small rubber stops with a small bead. Love being able to remove bobber quick and keep fishing.

Just to update, I purchased some slip lock bobbers from clearly outdoors. So far, I really like them. They do exactly what I wanted. I got the small size and it matched up great with 1/8oz split shot. Thanks again for this suggestion!

And I got my package from Lurenet - Where to Go for Go-To Baits containing the touted Thill bobbers marked in the exact size that corresponds to the exact lure size. They are balsa, fixed or slip, and cast exceptionally well. Thanks, Ketchn for the heads up.

I also use a bobber and jig, during winter fishing shallow bay in a lake from shore, I cast long distances so using the rocket bobber and a 1/32 jig Im able to cast a mile and fish it over everything coming in . The bite can be very light in the winter here in southern ohio so the rocket bobber works great for this. I can see the red or green top when it rises with the lightest of bite and its heavy so can cast it a very long distance. For me this combo at this particular lake works perfect.
been busy ketchn fish but to be sure I love a pinch on float , hard on the line and some are pricey , like the thills , but some aint like the comal brand , as for me and the crew in these parts if they did use a slip float and they ever went with me they never used one again ,,,,,,LOL
I rigged up my slip lock bobber with 2 string stops. I keep one slid down by my jig and move the top one up and down for normal slip rigging. If I wanna fish the slip lock bobber like a standard float I'll slide both stops up and put the bobber between thing. Don't ever have to cut my line or anything to change.
