I was hoping if anyone could give me a report on if anyone is having any luck on Grenada or atleast a starting point. Im coming in Sunday from Illinois and I was wondering if it will even be worth it. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Bound to get a report soon. Water temp coming up and it's that time of year. I haven't tried her yet but will sometime this week. Hope you get a good report.
Thanks a lot. I have never been Down there with the water that high so any info would help
Hope to start hearing of good reports soon. Taking my yearly fishing trip with family next week and hope I finally timed it right. Always seem to be just a week or 2 late.
Water mighty high. Fishing is going to be......um....different. I have not seen a spring with this kind of water in ten or fifteen years it seems like. I'm sure Rees can correct or verify. John?
All the guides are fishing Eagle Lake and Lake Washington. They are not driving 200 miles a day for nothing

That's about my luck! With travel for work and kids' baseball only leaves you with 1-2 weekends to do anything. we will have to make the best of next week. hopefully the water will be somewhat stable for several days. May have to hit up Sardis and Enid as well. i cant say I remember a spring with water this high either or if I have fished Grenada this high.
Years and years ago, this level was about normal for Grenada in the spring. I'm talking mid 70's to mid 80's. My dad and I would motor for what seemed like miles to the backs of the coves around Choctaw and Greysport. I remember several times in March and April where we caught limits fishing off Greysport bridge.....when the water was aroud 231 or so, so high that boats were not able to go under the bridge. Those were the good times, lol. Jig fishing only, and we caught a bunch of crappie most of the year. This is as high as it has been in the spring in 15-16 years, would be my guess. But, after having said this, you can catch fish there when you come, if you can find them. There will be hundreds and hundreds of acres in new water, and finding them may be a challenge. Gl on your trip.
Thanks for the input. I had heard the guides were traveling long distances but wasn’t exactly sure were to. Definitely going to be a challenge. I’m guessing the technique to concentrate on would be jigging and wading? What ramps at this level would be the safest to use? I’m going to be there from Sunday until Wednesday..
Bring the waders and hit the trees.... start around greysport prolly put in there or Choctaw depending on wind

To be honest if it were my trip, money, and time on the line. I would cancel on Grenada and go to Reelfoot, Darbone, or Washington.

Assuming the rains eventually stops, how long typically for Grenada to settle down?
Cork and a minner is gonna be a huge fish catcher this spring, I love the high water for a few reasons, once you find them you can stay with them if you will fish everyday. Years like this I will go if I only have 45 minutes to fish and most of the time find supper.
We need the rain in Grenada. I love to see these fisherman riding around lost

if they are out of the bushes where you can see them you can just about bet there not catching fish.
Thanks for the advice everybody. We will see how it goes....
That may get people back to reality ..Bad for us..Good to give the fish a break
Yea. No setting the world on fire for me I’m use to having to work for fish and coming up short. I fly solo coming down there and it always take me atleast a day to find some fish/get a pattern.... high water like this...going to make it a lot harder.
