Variety is the spice of fishing ...or so I've heard.

Most times fish of any species strike many designs in many colors. The search leading to discover is neverending.
Yep, there's no doubt that you guys are TYPE I OCD Fishing freaks. TAKE HEART... YOU'RE NOT ALONE!!! I've got tons of stuff too and I usually go through all of it and clean up
and lube everything, including my twenty-some rods and reels, about this time of the year. Funny thing though... as much work as it is... I always look forward to doing it.
It is INDEED and ADDICTION.
Spoon minnow, you are investing for the future, if times get bad, we will have enough baits to finish out our time.

Welcome to my world. You're not alone brother.
it's like rabies when you've been bitten by the dreaded "BAIT MONKEY" :Rofl
The sad thing from a non-angler point of view if the truth be know, I could catch fish for the rest of my life using one specific lure in one color to the exclusion of all others. But that would be like eating the same exact thing day after day after day after day..... BORING!!!! It's far more fun seeing how many different lures fish will bite on any given day.

The sad part is only those of us with this problem understand it .....the rest of the world don’t get it :Rofl
Yea, try adding an inshore saltwater addiction along with an offshore saltwater addiction along with the Crappie/bream addiction. Oh and find some time for hunting and shooting addiction. Ahh then find time for camping thrown in the mix. Gotta love all of Gods outdoor creations. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Thanks for the pics. Want the wife to see. She'll never fuss at me again. Well, never may be too much to hope for......
All we needed 70 years ago, still use 'em from time to time! :dono :fish

I share your addiction brothers.
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
I've been fishing for 53 years, since I was old enough to hold a fishing pole and I have a LOT of tackle to prove it. I intentionally do not keep all my gear in the same place for fear that my family members might call an intervention on me.
Jim
Same here except I moved out!Quote:

IT IS A TRAP!!! Don't fall for it.
The OP is trying to sucker everyone in to taking pictures of their gear so he has evidence...
See Honey, I don't have a ton of gear. Look at this guy. And that guy. Boy does he have a problem
In fact honey, it actually demonstrates that I am behind the power curve. These guys have way more gear than me. They probably catch way more fish than me! Get your coat, we need to drive to the store before someone else sees this and goes to buy all the good stuff.
Nice try sir, but I am NOT falling for that trick. Once pictures are taken, my spouse then has evidence to prove her theory on my issues.
I have a rule: Outside of my boat, my crank bait boxes are NEVER allowed to be seen together in the same location. Let alone my jig boxes!
Complete Sarcasm by the way!!!!!!!
Walk in, head held low, eyes on the floor. Grab a cup of coffee, sit in the chair facing the circle. Hello, my name is "INSERT NAME" and I have a problem. I've been crank bait purchase free for over 18 hours but I'm starting to have withdrawls. Hello INSERT, you are among friends!!!!! Glad you could join us. After the meeting we are all heading over to Fish USA, BILL has a coupon. You are welcome to join us!
Boy we have a sickness
It’s all Slab’s, BillBob and the moderators (G, D, and OCD too,) on Crappie.com’s fault that we are all addicted. They all keep pushing all these new baits, rods, Slab sauce, and boat equipment on us to buy. I still say, Slab is In cahoots with all of the sponsors and peeps selling stuff on this forum. :Rofl I think we all need to get together and get a special investigator to investigate them. :Rofl:biggrin The real problem is, I love my addiction and will not quit. :cheers2:fish
Not many, she isn't in to that. She does collect junk though. Might be on an episode of Hoarders one day.

I was counting rods and reels for insurance,I had 76 rods and 53 reels.Wife looked at me and said you have a problem, I said I know I am reel poor I need 23 new reels.I have 47 3600's with bass tackle that I don't fish for anymore.I can't pass a deal by.
I see...I stopped buying mine new shelf's or making them 20 years ago, I figured out if she had a empty shelf she needed more cookbooks. Yes I bought her Crappie.com one.
I never looked [experience} but, when the issue's you mention comes up, My go to counter is lets take a look in the shoe closet, its immediate all's good with my new purchase.:dono My other go to when not listening is "awesome".... hope she doesn't read this.

You know it's bad when you pick one up and go "Wow, I didn't know I had that one".
Guys, just make sure she never sells your stuff for what you told her you paid for it.
I can tell all of you and addiction none of you want. Don’t ever purchase any JDM gear out of Japan. It is a very expensive habit. LedHead.....One of crappie.com own put it this way. “The problem with JDM is you never want to put it down”. My name is Randy...and I have a problem....LOL.

The wife and I just had this discussion AGAIN...Her point of view, If it's not broke don't fix it. In other words if shrimp don't catch it, at least theirs shrimp for dinner....Meaning I only need one pole, one bait, she has no idea of the affliction this fishing has on a man....
Hey jim8861, sure glad you get away with that....last time I told the wife that she was after me with the cast iron skillet. Like it don't already have enough dents in it right...
wife gets it. told here long ago before maybe like our 2nd date i was kinda an addict. she didn't fully understand it until we were officially a thing so she really does not know any better. she sees all the bass stuff my dad has and all the crappie stuff i have and all the fishing stuff my boys are accumulating and just rolls with it. her family just shakes their heads sometimes when they come over but don't really say anything cause they have a mouth full of crappie. hehehe
You know may be that as kids we all liked Easter egg hunts so much that we never wanted it to end? Next time you are in your local tackle shop just imagine its Easter again, it all falls into place

This is just from two tackle bags I kept sitting next to me in the boat last season. You wouldn’t believe what I have in my storage bin and what I’ve given away to the kids I see shore fishing.
I am with you!
