Too bad you can’t keep any of that sizes. Nice report
14" and can only keep 10
They're probably gonna write a bunch of tickets to those who aren't aware of the Regulation change!
I beat the banks of the river for about 4 hours today looking for some white bass. I came home empty handed. I have yet to figure out how to catch them when we have these drastic weather changes. I was on them pretty good until it turned cold. I am open for any tips.
I did talk to the local game warden last week. He told me they were going to be giving people warnings until the new limits had been in place for awhile. I still don't think I will take any chances.

Some 1.5 inch gill net strung at several places will get you some in the cold weather.
Hopefully there will be none of that happening this year.
Finally made it out again yesterday afternoon. First time out in a week or so. Fished for about 2 hours. Ended up with 25 or 30 with 5 solid 15" fish. All the others were in the 13" range. The lure of choice was a suspending glass minnow jerk bait. Only caught a few on the rooster tail.
Are you catching more male's or females?
Hey guys, how does this cold weather typically effect the run? I thought I might give them a go in the next couple days, never fished them before...I guess the Eno white bass run is long out of the best kept secrets category, so figure there is no harm in asking at this point...any tips would be appreciated.
First post BTW, I've been skulking around on here awhile and thought Id make it official!
Had the pleasure of fishing with todobien Friday afternoon. We met at a spot where we had been doing pretty good for the last few weeks. Not sure if the cold weather or muddy water shut them down but we fished for about 2 hours with nothing to show for. We decided to try a spot in the Flat river. John was putting on a clinic for the 1st 30 min. He was finally nice enough to share his secret bait with me. Not even sure what it was called. Some type of soft plastic. Once I had the secret bait we stood in one spot about 15ft from each other and caught fish non stop until we left. We only caught a couple of keepers but all the others were good solid 10-12" males. With the recent rain the bite should be red hot in a day or so after the water clears up.

Its like the pusher man - first one is free but gotta pay for the replacements when you hang them in the trees or the fish obliterate the ~ 2 inch flukes. Great seeing you and fishing with you like always. Gotta get you to Weldon for shad but its tough to leave these rascals.
Caught 2 white bass around the trestle at Penny Bends, largest was 13 inch, caught on white roostertail
Fished from the Red Mill ramp up stream to past the second power line yesterday. Ran out of time didn't get to the rocks. Caught and released 2 fish 13 7/8 & 14 1/4. Are they about finished or are there more fishing days to come? Can't figure these things out.
You should be able to catch them for another 3 weeks or so. If you take your boat you need to go up the eno or flat as far as you can go. We fished this afternoon and caught our share of big fish. We caught 2 limits of keepers in about 2 hours at Pennies Bend. We watch fish spawning everywhere. Nothing to see 4 or 5 together knocking the eggs out of the females.
