I'm with Jeff, you're way overdue for a good rod bending session. Hope you find a mess big enough to make your back hurt when you're cleaning them. Holler if you think of it, I'll be out too.
Go get em Mike, how is your wife doing?

Doing pretty well. Still a bit shaky walking with a walker but getting better. Getting a good bit of her independence back slowly. But overall doing pretty dang good. She had 2 tests done today at 2 different hospitols for 2 different doctors. After second was done I took her back up to Neuro ICU floor to visit with the nurses and doctors that treated her for initial 25 days and they were in tears and amazed. My wife only knew of them all from me telling her about them. She was never concious while in their care.
Sounds like your wife has made amazing progress and we will be praying that she continues to do so. God is amazing. Hope that you have a good day sat.
Glad to hear that Mike. I think of you both often and wonder how it's going. She's a tough one.
I thought I would be fishing today but a good friend has asked me to go with him to drive the second vehicle should he buy the one we're going to look at. It will probably be tomorrow for me. I hope.
A fishing trip is just the thing to make everything feel better.... Glad to hear Silvia's getting better.
Mike , great to hear about your wife,Been thinking about you guys ,didn't want to brother you ,Thanks for the info.P.S. let us know how the fishing went LOL RR
Got to the park about 6:10 and got boat all ready to launch and waiting on them to open gate. As the guy is walking up to unlock gate I happen to look in my mirror and realized I forgot my rodholders:banghead:banghead:bash guy opens gate and drive through and back out to home to put rod holders back on boat. Back to ramp and launched at 7. Fished through a slow bite all morning and ended with 12 plus 2 that Jeff donated on his way out. Marked a bunch of fish in the last area we fished but just couldnt get em going good. Picked up one here and one there with only 1 double all morning. Beautiful morning out there. Sorry got no picks for you guys. No 2lb fish just all solid table fare between 11 and 14 inches. Bigger fish were males and shefish were getting pretty good load of roe but not busting at the seams yet. Good seeing ya out there this morning Jeff.
Good deal, some of them cooperated anyway. Sure beats what I did. Drove to Clearwater, then St Pete, then home after looking at two trucks for my friend that didn't hit the mark. Hope to fish tomorrow and will post if'n I do.
Good deal Mike! Bet it felt Good getting out on the water? :ThumbsUp When you get my age, you will need a check list. lol NUMBER ONE is DRAIN PLUG. :biggrin
1st & foremost it was good seeing the son-n-law & you out on the water this morning Mike. Wish I could've helped the cause more, but it was a strange morning to say the least. Unexpected wind to start, thought the fog indicated light wind launching, but it calmed quickly, although after messing with the GPS for a while & crossing the lake to the mine field of floating debris, spent time clearing lines. Lost the 1st good fish grabbing the net & later lost the 2nd good fish in the exact manner, thinking I need a #2 hook instead of a #4 for that Tennessee shad paddle tail grub...other than that a few other small ones thrown back & a small striper, yep crossed 4 lines....just wasn't my morning I guess, going to have to hit the reset. Pic of Mike & son-n-law & floating debris in fog over by the Corner of Monroe known as the OPP.
You know I have somewhat given up on them Mr Crappie paddle tails cause the tails seem to whip around and get between point and fish. Least thats what my thinking is cause I sure loose a bunch of fish with them. Far more than sliders and hotgrubs. Maybe a #1 hook instead of the #2 I pull all the time.
The funny thing is the paddle tails usually don't present the problem I experienced this morning, probably just karma for telling the brother-n-law last week that the trolling method I use basically hooks the fish for you, while he was trying to hook set like a bass in reeds with 50 # braidrotfl
Holler if I could pour a few of those bigger hooks for you to try. Not into production but have the molds and can throw a few for you two. PM me.
Thanks but I have the molds and lead myself. Easier to use Sliders and easier to find sliders.
