Sevins in Farmerville and there is a crawfish place by Hwy 33 bridge. Don’t no the name of it though. Also there is an all u can eat seafood buffet in Spearsville called Hollis’s that is awesome. It’s open Thursday-Saturday I believe. Good luck.

:hesaid times 2, especially on Hollis's. I haven't been to Hollis's in a long time, but they used to be open Thursday-Sunday; with Thursday being cheap night. LOL. Be careful, you can hurt yourself there. LOL. I can also vouch for Sevin's; goooood food. Taterbug's is a locally owned bait shop. Nice and friendly. They used to have shiners. Good luck with your trip.
There will be a crappie masters tourney on Darbonne feb 23-24. Be a lot of extra folks on the water then. Any idea when you're coming?

Is it best to buy fishing license on line before I get there
Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com
It's no problem getting license for a few days. Almost any store. Been a pretty crazy year around here, but it SHOULD be good then.

you will have to get license on line. ldwf is installing new licensing system and cant print over the counter until April 1 I believe
They just opened Granny's in Farmerville, it's not really high class but it's decent home cooking buffet. On either Friday or Saturday nights they have an AYCE seafood buffet that is ok. They do have some good hot water cornbread that is great with beans and greens.
Love cornbread but have never heard of hot water cornbread

Where you staying while you're down?
There's a good article in this month's Louisiana Sportsman magazine about crappie fishing on D'Arbonne in February.
Ill have to try it for sure really haven't had to much Cajun food that I didn't like
Hot water cornbread that I have had is like a pancake but made with cornmeal. And can't fine unless you go to a sole food place and not many all have it.
From my mother's recipe: "Hot Water Cornbread (for about 12 patties) Ingredients: 2 cups cornmeal, 2 table spoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt if the meal is not self rising
Directions: Mix ingredients then add boiling water (enough to make a thick paste) and stir. Make about 12 patties and fry in a pan of hot grease."
I use the same Recipe except , 1 cup of flower. The wife has a small tablespoon size scoop made like an Ice Cream scoop. It drops round balls in the deep frier with the Peanut oil for Cooking fish and fries.. the balls float to the top when cooked. I forgot that our Recipe calls for a small chopped onion. About 2 tablespoons
Coush Coush PS
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 and 1/2 tsps salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 and 1/2 cups milk
Method:
In a 12-inch cast iron skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, salt, baking powder and milk. Using a wire whisk, blend ingredients until well incorporated. When oil is hot, pour in cornmeal mixture. Do not stir. Allow a crust to form. Once formed, stir well and lower heat to simmer. Cover and cook approximately 15 minutes, stirring often. Serve with milk and sugar or with hot coffee milk as cereal.
