I know this isn’t the place for jig tying but I just made 4 of these.
I’ll drag them around and see if it fools anything , it’s just a hook and no weight. I’ll drag it 2 ft behind a 1 oz weight

Looks good. It ought to attract some nice ones ! The time to find out is coming up soon !!!
That shad profile just might do the trick. Can you make oldfish a orange with a purple tail?
I also think those will get it done! Nice work

Sam, I got an orange and purple crankbait I pull a lot. Catch plenty of crappie on it. They Tiger fans also. Looks good Brett. Where is mine?

Brett ... without a "head" weight, your jig will likely run with the hook point pointing down  .... more likely to hang into anything it comes across, and hook fish in the bottom lip membrane (rather than the roof of the mouth) so that the fish may have a easier chance to come unbuttoned. Not dissing your work, as I think it looks great and should catch you some fish ... just making a suggestion that may help create a more successful bait. And I may be off base in my assumption, but I'm only going on what I see in the picture.
I use super super glue from Mann Tool in Columbia when doing woodwork to glue parts making ink pens and such. They have some that will literally glue you together, so get their glue dissolver just in case...the stuff works and has a small dropper on the bottle for just the right amount...Good looking jig!
It should act the same as those gnats folks tightline with I would think.

Having a lead head not only points the hook point upwards, but also keeps the jig vertical in the water. You might experience spinning or looping without the weight, especially with any appreciable speed. And having the body not be perfectly straight and inline with the hook can also cause that.

Brettw I can't believe you showed them the jig I gave you. Everybody was wanting me to give them one at high rock for our tournament we had against you guys. You will have to give them yours Friday cause I ant got no more. Lol [emoji12]

Looking good
Final thought on the new jig/fly
It looks amazing in the water. Easily the brightest most reflective chartreuse I’ve seen.
It ran hook down as predicted . Not a problem as I stayed off the bottom.
Last it didn’t spin, I think the reason is it’s a long heavy hook and that acted like a rudder.
No bites on it or anything
Cheers

There’s a few things about the Wylie crowd I should tell you( you’d figure it out eventually)
The boys here are good chums, kind, considerate, sensitive, caring, tidy, finicky, social, talkative, and love spending time together.
The JP Crappierunner Jigs are selling like hot cakes here. But I had to improve the packaging. They now come per dozen in this snazzy carrying case.

Sorry I just seen this question. Tying the eyes on would be the best way then coat with head finish (nail polish) to make it stay in place. Another material you may want to get and try is Cure Goo. You put it on where wanted then use a UV light to set it. Only takes 5 seconds to cure. Some of it is sticky after cured but a coat of nail polish does the trick.
