G3 sportsman 200

So, I've studied boats fer two years now. I've thought about just keeping this riva boat but after having to run 13 mph for an hour in 10-15 mph winds. It's leaving now. I have a club member in cacc that's fishing this boat and loves it. He's coming to Martin next weekend and I'll see his exact layout for spidering.

This boat has a little more room than the Seaark pro cat. And offer a frontlive well that is better positioned.
Looks like my dreamboat will be the sportsman 200 with these options. Helix ten mega si at helm. Helix 10 di at bow with 360 on ulterra.

That's a LOT of boat! Looks like a fine one to set up for crappie too.

Excellent choice that is my dream boat but I want ever own one. Enjoy when you get it.

Leave off that back deck and it would be awesome!!!!!! I prefer an open floor plan behind the console.

That would be one awesome rig!

We do a lotta single poling so we need back deck.

I got ya, looks great. If you get a chance get in one on a windy day before you buy. Been in a couple and they sit hi in the front, wind shoves em around pretty bad. Only down fall I have seen.

Lee, I love my G3, very happy with it. Like Rees said, check one in the wind I you can. The way mine pushes water to the side in wind will get someone wet depending on how the wind is blowing. I would also check the beam. I would prefer a wider beam than 86. I believe the newer models have a wider beam, but move from side to side an heck it out if you can.

That's a fine boat . I to looked and couldn't decide. I let $ keep me from buy what I really wanted. When I finally broke down and got what I really wanted I wish i done it earlier. You only live once if you can afford it get what you want. If that's what you want pull the trigger.

Me lee I’m with brm on this one. Don’t see how it won’t be a rough ride across that Big open water with just a mod v hull. Sure is a lot of boat though. Brandon loves his.

Looks like a nice roomy boat and as far as the pad hull (which is nice) I don't know of a catfish type that has one.

We have a 2015 Sportsman 200 that is extremely roomy and is a great boat in rough water when driving at faster speeds. Unfortunately on windy days the aerodynamics of the boat cause it to be difficult to troll. I believe it's due to the windshield and how far the front end sits out of water. Looking to trade in the near future.

Here you go Lee, might be able to buy a good used one and save a little change.

Does anybody know why they put these big walk thru windshields on these type of boats ?

Helps keep you drier and warmer is all. Other than that going to act like a sail.

Yep I see it now...it put a pop up over it...I got rid of the pop up and could see a few pics . Looks like its gonna be a better boat than the G3.

A friend of mine has a 21ft sea ark and and it's a big boat. It was the same angle hull as my Lowe and it's not terrible but it doesn't ride as well a some of the more knife like hulls. So I would go for a ride in one first.

oh I'm fishing with a club member that has a sportsman Thursday. I will know good about the ride being there is 100 bass master elites on lake this week. Should be a good test.

The dealer says it has a semi pad on it for a better ride. But the proof is in the pudding. I will see soon.

A friend of mine has a 21 foot Lund Alaska. Best riging tin boat I've ever been in

Wind and windshield...... no front livewell are weighing on me.
