Can't help you with that, but Bass Pro has them on sale now.

Very happy with it

Kenny, if your giving them away, I'll take a 13! Just kidding. My buddy has one but I think it's a 19. I think it's a little too big unless you're fishing for several days.
First question would be how many minnows did you plan to put in it.I have a 13 and a 30 qt one.The 30 is heavy when full of water also.

I'm thinking about becoming a dealer for Engel and I'm looking for the most popular sizes. Plus I'm getting one for myself that will double as live bait cooler and a weigh in cooler at tournaments. I'm thinking the 19qt would hold 7 fish around here no problem, but Ky Lake or Cumberland 7 fish might be tight.
I never go with less than 100 minnows, but my boat also has an aeration system that I can plug into for air. I like the 30qt but was worried about weight... thanks
I have the 19 quart and it will hold plenty of minnows for a day or two of fishing.
I have the 13qt but would buy the 19 if I had it to do over
I have a 13 it's plenty big enough for me
One thing about the larger coolers --- They do not have to be full of water ,,, that gives more room as the minnows are not overcrowded with the 19 there would not be as much minnow chasing
19 or 30 for that many minnows.I like my 30 except it's heavy,I keep an old tea picture in my boat.I use it to fill the cooler with while it's in the boat. When I get to the store I carry the tea picture in and get minnows then dump them in the engle.Only reason I bought the 13qt is because we fish tournaments and it being smaller fits better in the front deck.I would say the best all around sizes is the 19qt though.

We fish Miss. every year and a 19 will hold a pound of big minnows without Any problems. We change the water at the lake at the end of the day if we have left overs for the next day. That being said there have been times I have thought a 30 would be nice to keep extras and use the 19 for daily use.
I have the 13 and the 30. Keep most of my minnows in the 30 and keep the 13 up front with me takes up less room.

I have the 19 quart and love the net screen that came with it . Not sure how many minnows it can carry. i normally carry 8 dz.
30 and I am using mine today. The minnows I bought yesterday morning are ready to go this morning, lively and ready to be eaten! Love my Engel!
I have the 30 and it works great,I get a half pound of minnows at a time and can keep them alive for several days without a problem.I will keep it in the back of the boat and just fill a smaller bucket with some when 2 of us are fishing up front to save on space.
I have all three.
For a quick night on the water, we use the 13 for a couple dozen minnows. If we are going for an all day trip we jump to the size 19. If we are fishing with bigger minnows (say for walleye) we use the 19 for the day. If the bait shops are further away, we are going for a weekend, or purchasing larger amounts of bait, we use the 30.
I've been an Engel Prostaff member for two years.
I have the 13, its plenty big for me..
I got a 13 last weekend at Bass Pro as it was on sale. Have tested it in the mancave and can't wait to get it on the boat. Picked it because of cost, smaller size and weight when filled. Good reviews and I liked how well it was made.
I am also on Engel Pro-Staff, I have heard the concerns some have expressed that the pump is sometimes a problem. I asked Engel about it and here is the answer I got back (sorry I couldn’t screen shot it as one )

Thanks Steve:
Many people think that, we as Prostaff members are simply paid to represent a company. The reality is that many of us are customers of that company long before we ever become a prostaff member.
The good ones (like Steve and Myself) are constantly looking at information on our forums in regards to the products being sold by the companies we represent. If we start seeing trends, issues, or negative information, we take the time to capture this information and provide direct feedback to the company so that they can address the issues and concerns of the company. Product refinement, improvement, and design cannot be achieved without the information that comes directly from the consumer. Only relying on the paid help to provide feedback is not a recipe for success. Although prostaff members can be great sources for feedback and guidance to the company, the information garnered directly from the consumers is invaluable.
We take pride in knowing that the company we represent listens to the customers (both good and bad). Rest assured that, some of us pay attention to issues and information and provide that back to companies. Engel is top notch when it comes to listening to issues and handling them!
Thanks to all for the feed back.
I see a lot of coolers and bait buckets come thru the store as well as in the weigh in lines. filling out the dealer form today so look for their products on the shelf this spring.
Is seems that the small Air pumps are made overseas have problems after a couple of years --- I now have 4 made by Fabrill --- two of them will not push enough air to make bubbles through the stone. One motor freezes when sitting for a while but does ok -- the last one pushes enough to keep the bait alive but eats batteries for lunch. The Tackle suppliers that donates Door Prizes for the Louisiana D'Arbonne gathering donated a 19Q several years ago ---- The Cooler was a favorite of CDC members and went faster than a $50 12 ft pole by Duck Commander ---- Wonder why i keep the old stuff that dont work? the Wife says I am a Junk Collector
My pump went out on me as well. All I have to do is call them and get a replacement? I can't remember what I did with my pump as it stopped working. Would I need to return the broken one? Thanks for the info!
Mine quit after only a couple of uses.
I just contacted them about a replacement and received this reply...
Thank you for your inquiry.
I'm at work & will try this out tomorrow...
Perhaps this will help others as well.

Thank you for your inquiry.
It is possible that your pump needs to be jump started -
With a fresh set of batteries in the pump turn the toggle switch to the ON position. Once on, turn the small white gear (located on the back right side of the pump, above the battery housing) counter clockwise for 30 seconds to a minute. This should allow your pump to begin running.
If this does not allow the pump to run, please file a warranty claim on our website. I have provided a link to the claim below:

I know the Engel live bait coolers have a good reputation. I'm seriously thinking about getting one but wonder if they would be better than the bait well in my boat with the oxygen system I have. Any thoughts?
Glenn,
I'm not sure if "better" is the word. I think there are a few things to look at when considering it versus your bait well
1. How close is your baitwell to where you fish from (front of the boat, back of the boat). The Engel is portable and you can sit it right next to you.
2. You have the ability to store minnows for a longer period of time. If you purchase minnows and place them in your boats bait well then come in for the day but plan to keep your minnows, you need to ensure the water in the baitwell stays fresh and the oxygen system is working which, in turn might run down the battery in your boat. Put a cover on the boat and the baitwell might rise in tempurature. With the Engel, you can pull it out, easily put fresh water in it, and tend to it easier. We use an electric plug in fish tank aerator when at camp or in a hotel. This cuts down on worrying about running out of battery juice!
Just a few things to look at.
As a tournament angler, we have backups for everything. We carry multiple units with us in the truck based on our needs and the size of minnows and amount we are purchasing. We do carry spare batteries with us because it is tough to keep track of when the last time we purchased them. We also carry the AC plug in so we can plug in to our boat auxilary port. Additionally, we also carry a spare pump. Although we have not seen issues with any of our pumps, we simply cannot take the chance.
Thanks for the quick response. I do like the idea of portability. My oxygen system is actually a small tank with regulator and diffuser stone so I don't have to worry about batteries. I think I'm going to get the small Engel live bait cooler.
I have the 30 and love it. It keeps my minnows fresh and ready in the brutal MS heat. I can always leave it in the boat and use a smaller container to portage the minnows from the bait store. Actually this has not been a problem for me because of the handy shoulder strap, but I'm a bigger guy that can tote a load. I also use a 12-volt aeration system that I installed in my boat, instead of the one that comes with the unit.
