It won't be long. Last week it was frozen and today it's clear in spots.

Looks good I did not know you could get a boat in with drawdown.deer creek we can’t get in.
Sent from my iPad using Crappie.com
I've unloaded many times here at winter pool. It is very shallow at the ramp but can be done. My last two boats have been deep v styles and I need to wear hip waders to get in and out of the boat. It's too shallow to use the floating dock.
Again thanks for the update, that's good info. I always thought you could load/unload with no problems during winter pool....without hip boots.
How much farther out does the pad go? I'd be scared to death of my trailer going off the end of the pad and tearing something up.
I've never gotten off the pad as far as I can tell. I've backed in with water half-way up my rear truck wheels to unload. I have 4WD but have never needed to use it here yet. The ramp blends in with a sandy bottom. I've seen the lake drawn down for maintenance a few years back and there are no drop offs that I know of near the ramp. The creek channel is quite a bit farther out in the lake. The sand gets washed around from year to year. Usually the middle of the ramp is the best place to unload during the winter draw down.
by the way the lake is locked up again.
glasseyes is right. I stopped this morning and took a couple more pics. Ole man winter has tightened his grip again.

That's depressing looking.
I stopped by East Fork the other day and I noticed some sections of it were starting to refreeze there as well.
The ice has been replaced by an abundance of muddy water. All ramps are closed at this time.

That sucks
they just opened the tube and started dumping water in last few hours, when i checked it was 6,893 cfs, thats a lot. it will empty like pulling the plug in a bathtub, BUT we are to get more rain so this may not change anything.
Still plenty of muddy water. A slow draw down was begun about 3 PM today.

draw down is over 7000 cfs now, would love to be down there up close to the tube and see and hear the water coming out, has to be crazy, lake is dropping but is still over 40'above winter pool.
That's crazy high but at least they're pulling some water.
EF is up 33' and they aren't pulling much. I imagine it they won't start pulling it until the weekend when the Ohio River finally drops below flood stage.
Even if they pull 2 or 3 feet per day it's going to be 2 or 3 weeks before they get back down to normal...that's depressing.

Went to Paint yesterday. Kept a dozen or so between 10" - 12 1/2" for a photo then set them free.
Nice overcast morning to be on the water. Bite was pretty good.
I wish that lake was a little closer to my house.
Thanks for the pic & report.
A buddy & I drove over to check out the ramp at Paint Creek Lake this afternoon. The ramp off Rte. 50 was froze up (about an inch thick of ice). There was some open water on out towards the ski area.
