I have one of those Amish style small space heaters down here in FL. And yes, it's actually been cold down here and we've needed the heat. So since it was just wifey and I, I thought I'd just heat the room we were in mostly with that little heater. Well the electric bill came and it seems that it's more expensive to heat only the room you're in, than the whole house with the 240 volt heat pump system we have. Those stupid little heaters are not very efficient.
Boy, Heater 2 brought a different crowd! I guess the word got out on da street how much we had been having!

I love gas heat. Been as low as 1 degrees here. Gas bill was less than $40.
It's been warm the past few days so the heaters have been off. The electric blanket on 1 at night felt good. We were out past dark thirty yesterday and it was 52 in here when we got home. Turned on the heaters, got it to 62 by bedtime. Turned on the blanket to 1 then to bed. I woke cold and looked at the clock, it's off. Got to a battery clock, it's 7:45. It's 55 in here. The heater in hall is on, all other heat is off. Debbie used the microwave during the night and tripped the breaker.
I took my space heater back. Bought me a 5 gallon bucket full of ice and a blower motor. Getting ready for summer now. [emoji23][emoji23]

A 14seer heat pump is 4 times cheaper to
operate than electric heaters. I've been heating this 3400 sq ft lake house and running compressors miter saw and table saw everyday for less than 150 a month
Dang it. Next time y'all decide to get into trouble, call me. I want to laugh and point.
Wannabe...

I never said nothing. And anybody that said I did is an untruth'er.
All ya gotta do is go look in the mirror, stroke your little fingers thru your hair, then you can point and laugh!!! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Now dats funny :Rofl
What we have here is an imbalance in the Yankee population vs location.
They have learned of our southern way of life, and are now departing in droves for the southern hemisphere.
Now, this has caused an imbalance in the weather patterns causing unnatural weather acts all across the south. This can not go on any longer. The Posse needs to rise, gather the illegals and drive these little doggies back north!!
Should similar to herding cats......

Full interview conducted on the front porch over a glass of sweet tea. Once we hit the quota, no more until room allows! [emoji23] [emoji12]

Me? No, I stayed on my hill. I let the chicks out of the run so they could roam. Let the roo's out of their cage so they could be in the run. Unloaded my truck from yesterday. Started a fire in the pit. Got a cold Keystone Ice. Attacked by roo while rebuilding cage. Set mouse traps in coop. Fed the fire, got another Stone. Put the roo's up, reset traps. Repaired storage compartment on kayak. Fed the fire, sent Clayton a text, got another Stone. Carried feed and water to the coop. Removed some ties from tomato stakes, half 5 gallon bucket. Fed the fire, put chicks up, reset traps, think I need rat traps. Another Stone and sit on a bucket by the fire for a few.
Hope you got an opening in about 4 years for the Mrs. and I.
Regarding Heaters, we used to heat only with propane till about 2004 and converted to a bio mass heater for our primary heat. Cost to heat or home has been cut in half. We use corn, wood pellets, cherry pits, barley or oats......When temperatures get in the single and negative digits we use just corn. It seems to burn better as temps get cold.
Well, after running space heaters for a month or so I finally got my electric bill. [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]
I’ll post my “Go Fund Me” page shortly. [emoji30]

There is a portable propane heater, uses a 5 gallon bottle, and it is a much better solution than the electric space heaters. Has 3 burners so you can choose low, medium and high. Just running on pilot helps a lot.
I picked this Mister Heater model out. 18000 btu...runs off a 20# bottle . Lasts a long time
That's it and it does an excellent job, way cheaper to run and if have the bottle filled instead of swapping you come out way better too.
Well took reading the Heater 2 thread to realize, actual heater talk is pretty boring  I just flip a little hand on top of the thermostat on top of some numbers and instant heat or cold, it works most the times. :biggrin

"most times"...Out here where I live you never know if that little switch will be working.
Or the power/gas that little switch controls could have a problem. Or the box that little switch sits on top of could go bad.
Always have a back up plan...

How many did y'all buy ??
You are correct, Jimmy...I paid $79 at sportsman's guide, with free shipping...I like it the best of any I've tried
Well .... yeah . But this is more than that . This is about all the deals/bargin Canebreaker knows about , stuff he builds, stuff in his yard he plans to build, Southaven, TN , and lots of other stuff . I admit Heater 2 is starting slow, but I believe great things are coming.
