New to this crappie thing they call fishing. Well to be honest this whole freshwater thing. Looking for any and all tips tricks and advice. What would be the one "rule" you all would offer?
Hope to see you all on the water.

My first place to look is YouTube. If you want to one rod or multi-rod fish, tight-line or long-line, there are instructional video's out there covering it all. Being from the eastern part of the state, see if some of the guys down that way will take you with them.

Get on the water and get on the water again. Welcome aboard from Arkansas.
You're up near Jack. He's one of the nicest guys on here and posesses a wealth of knowledge on fishing the eastern tidal rivers. Try to make friends with him. If you ever head down Wilmimgton way pm me, we can meet up. My two cents as far as advice; know the water you're in and understand that crappie fishing in the eastern rivers is very different than the deep lakes in the piedmont. Good luck!

Welcome. Have fished for crappie in the area since 98 with best luck in Trent and Brice’s Creek primarily targeting docks in 10’ water late Spring thru mid Fall; tube jigs under float works for me. Neuse is also good, especially creeks up river from New Bern.
That's what I hear, NB is a honey hole. I will have to do some google earth reconnaissance and see if I can identify any brush piles. Thank you for the information!
