Morgan Point report (pics)

I waited until the temp got out of the 30's before I went fishing, I got to M. Point about 10:45 am. Got to my fishing hole at 11:00, just in time for the major solunar time. Started catching fish right away, throwing the roadrunner. I caught 23 crappie between 11 and 2pm, then it slowed down. I fished until 5:15 trying to get my limit but just couldn't find that last one. I ended up with 29 crappie and one LM bass. The best was 2lb. 2oz. and had 3 others close to 2lbs. It was a beautiful day to fish, just a little cold starting out.

dayum good catch there Mr. Jerry. I met Glenn Mathis..aka...Gut Shot on Old Town lake this morning. I caught three before you could see good. I thought, this is going to be a great day. Then nothing all day, he caught three and had to leave. I hung around waiting on the afternoon bite and caught ten more. Glenn gave me his ,so I guess I had a good day.

You fellows need to meet this man, he is one heck of a nice fellow.

Well i'm hitting the sack so I can do this all over again tomorrow...:D

Good catch Stumpjumper. I might have to hit that hole on my way back from Chicot to Batesville. It's hard to beat south Arkansas crappie fishing!

Mr. Jerry i know a lot of people that wishes they could use a Road Runner like you man i like to see catches like that keep those pic,s comming in. MAY GOD BLESS

John, I'm fishing about 6 ft. deep in 10 to 11 ft. of water over structure.

JohnR, I went today and the males have moved to the banks, so you might want to try the shallows.

Now I know how you are catching so many, you are getting them DRUNK and taking them home. Congrats on the catch again Jerry, I am really getting jealous, I have been having trouble catching in the double digits..... Good post, thanks.

Yeah, that Busch Light seems to be the drink of choice for Cane Creek and Morgan's Point... Keep it up LA. John R is heading there tomorrow and try his luck!

How did John R do today, it was pretty windy, but the way the lake is shaped you could probably get out of the wind somewhere.

I think he struck out. I called him around 5 pm and I believe he said he caught a couple of goo and a green carp. Must be the busch light on your end. :D

Yeah BW, I pretty much struck out. Couple of drum, and a couple of nice green carp. May change my name to WhiteCap, since everytime I go there is at least a 15mph wind right in my face.:(

That's the way to do it right there!

1. Drink Beer
2. Replace 2nd cold beer with first slab crappie in the cooler.
3. Drink Beer
4. Replace 3rd cold beer with 2nd and 3rd slab crappie in the cooler!
5. Repeat steps 1-4 repeatedly until:
a) Beer is gone and fish quit biting...
b) Cooler is full, and you are hungry!

I do know one thing...them cane creek crappie sure do love busch light. Better keep it right beside your nibbles...:D

And speaking of CC, I'm heading to star city this weekend. I plan on nightstalking and running a few yo-yos on Friday night. Then fish some more from daylight till noon-ish. You should head over and try it with me, Jerry. I'll even throw a RR for a little while...:eek:

Heard anything on Morgan Point? I was thinking of headin' that way Sat morning as well.

Hey Chris, I went to M. Point Sunday and caught some good crappie, but not as many as I did on Saturday. Before we left we went to the bank and threw the RR and caught some good males, all in full color. I'm pretty sure I could have mopped up with a jig and jigpole. I'm going tomorrow after work and will post a report tomorrow night. I might try to come up there Friday for the nightstalk. Will let you know.

Morgan point is at pendleton, just as you get to the dam it is on the right.

I have driven by there a bunch of times, I just never knew the name of the lake. Are they still catching some down there? I might have to give it a try Saturday. Thanks

Yeah they're still biting, a friend and I just got back, went after work and fish 21/2 hrs. and kept 15 good crappie. Will try to post pics later.

Oh yeah...looks like I know where I'll be headed Sat morning. That sounds like a very productive afternoon trip. Also...it now looks like I will be able to fish all day Sat just in case it's an afternoon bite. How deep did you find 'em? Black males?

Chris they were hitting real close to the bank, in probably 2-3 ft. of water.
