Will the COE lakes be closed to public access if we have a government shutdown?
They did for a while last time
I agree, but it's political and needs to be turned off.
Scott, just like us when we walked out on strike. They could replace us with anyone. I see a few at some corners that could do their job.
Yes, but this is getting serious when they start messing with our fishing... You don't realize how much government is in our lives...Where can you fish without state or government control of lakes or rivers....
I assume all of Congress is laid of without pay..no back pay after this is settled?
No congress gets paid right on
Ain't that something
Thanks democrats. They put illegal aliens ahead of the American government. Isn't that INSANE?
Just a reminder that its in the rules....no political discussions allowed on the boards.....only allowed in Way Off Topic.

The government at work??:banghead:banghead
I know that..being sarcastic..need to send them all home at their own expense
rivergages is up and running as for now, did notice that the spillway at Grenada was shut completely down during the night last night, it is close to curve so may be a coinsidence. Have to look at the others but they are all close.
On a good note the curve is on the rise for Sardis, Enid and Grenada so they aren't shooting for as low a number these days.
Rule curve rise--A moment in the year that marks a seminal season change, just like summer, winter, spring fall.
A note from the national park service on a rv site.
We aren't closed just understaffed for now. Visit at your own risk.
I thought it was always like that.
COE campgrounds at Grenada closed along with the day use areas.
The last time the government shut down, I came in from fishing and found a note on my camper door that read. Due to
government shut down all campers must be out of campgrounds by Wednesday, October 02, 2013 at 8:00 P.M. I framed
it and have it hanging on the wall of the camper. Just checked with a volunteer at Enid. They have emptied out Wallace
Creek as of today. In 2013 they put a few barrels in the road going to the boat ramp. The first fisherman came in and
moved the barrels enough to get through and no one put them back. They stayed that way until the park reopened.
At Enid you could still use the Cossar park ramp anyway.
Cossar is way out of the water but the Park is still open, State run
The 2013 16 day shutdown cost the economy an estimated $20 billion, according to an estimate from Moody's Analytics.
We don't really see it on the big scale. A lake is shutdown so there is no purchase of gas, tackle, minnows, lodging, guides and other goodies needed for a trip be it for a day or week. It can force a small business to seek a loan or shut them down.
Alright enough is enough now these dang politicians are messing with are fishing they all got to go and will start over. I got an ideal this palace runs pretty good so slab for president and G for Vice President
