Mr. Crappie camo 6 lb test and Stren clear blue 6 lb test right now .....on 2 of my carry alongs .
I'll go the other way...I use an 9 strand braid, higher test, that is 4 pound diameter! Besides Crappie, I have Walleye in my lake.
I love Izorline in 12 lb test. Has the diameter of 4 lb mono. I use this as I am on brush 3 of 4 seasons and with this strength you can almost always retrieve your hung up jig. Our lake is almost always slightly stained so you can see your line and it appears the crappie cannot or do not care.

Stren Hi viz 6#
Seaguer, Daiwa, Kastking, and others, now have up to 20 lb test lines with 3 to 4lb mono size. Even Spider wire has some new braids that are 8 strand and very good.
For panfish nothing over 2# test. Not to be a horses rear but when you have tried the majority of 2# test lines out of Europe and Japan then you can get some basis for great panfish line. Plus if you do a forum search this subject has been beat to death....all the info you are asking is already on the site.

I use as many lines as I use fishing poles. It really depends on what type of fishing I'm doing when I choose what line to use. I use braid/Fireline/Nanofil when fishing deep. Just about any mono will do when fishing the spawn. I fish on creek that will leave you fishless if you use any line over 4 lbs. Is flourocarbon on this creek because both crappie and whitebass will swim right by your bait if have any line over 4 lbs. It's not a clear water creek but for some reason those fish are extremely line shy. I took a old pro to show me how to catch fish in this creek. Most folks think it is a waste of time to fish it. This also applies to urban ponds that get alot of fishing pressure.
Was used vicious till wal mart stop selling it

Depends on which rod/method I'm using ... but, Vicious Panfish 6lb test hi-vis is my current favorite for jig casting.
If/whenever I run out of what's left of the 1/4lb spool I have ... I'll consider calling CARP Coastal Marine Supply 321-592-1303 and see if their listed price of $5.69 for the 1/4lb spool of 6lb test is still viable. They have a "minimum purchase of $7.50" ... so I'd have to buy two spools, but that's still cheap (as long as the shipping costs are reasonable). Vicious PYLQ6 Panfish Mono 1/4lb - 2360yds Hi-Vis Yel - Carp Coastal Marine Supply
Stren original clear blue on ultra-lights 4lb. on 1 , 6lb. on 1 . P-LINE ON JIGGING RODS 8LB. spider rig with Stren 10 lb original .
Big fan of Fireline here; the Crystal version. I fish mostly open, non-bushy clear to slightly stained water. All my crappie rods are dressed with 2# test Crystal with a 4# test fluorocarbon leader. I get mine Fireline easily on Amazon.com @ around $20.00/spool. Love the stuff! :)
Currently throwing Wally M's Hi-Vis in 4 lb, have 6 lb on two reels, but 4 gets most all the work. Toying with the idea of some 2# but don't see a lot of it advertised in hi-vis. Maybe even 10-2 braid. Mostly for distance
It hasn't been on the market long. Maybe a year or two?

I use stren crappie mono to shoot docks, I like it better then any line I have tried. Get very few tangles and that is a plus. I have used 2,4 and 6 lb depending on size jig and how deep I am fishing. Order it from Wal Mart.
Stren.com has a close out on crappie mono right now. $1.74 for clear and 4.99 for gold. Free shipping on orders over $25

I us Izorline 6lb test and I long line 90 percent of the time. If I pull cranks then I use 10lb hi vis tied to a6 ft liter of 12lb Izorline. I use the hi vise to keep up with my cranks IMO
Suffix Hi Vis 6lb for spider rig and pulling, Suffix Hi vis 10lb for pulling crankbaits, P-Line 4 lb for my jigging rods. It's what works best for me, almost everyone I fish with with use something different.
grizzly jig has mr crappie on sale right now for 2 bucks for the mega spool.
I use Fireline Crystal 1/2 lb diameter/2lb strength for free lining, vertical jigging, and lure fishing alone. For combat crappie fishing with jigs on the local pier, I use 4lb Stren Crappie gold line. Thin diameter can get the jig out there. Mr. Crappie line gets too kinky for me. For fishing with Pops, I spool the reels we use with Berkley XL in 4,6, and on the big lakes sometimes 8lb.
If fishing with braid like PP super slick 8, nanofil or fire line do you use a fluorocarbon leader? I have 6lb of all the above and was thinking about using the fluorocarbon leaders in the same poundage or less since I am fishing a super clear lake.
What is your take on using leaders with braids?

I have been looking for Fireline 2lb test. Any help locating is appreciated. Pop
The clearer the water the more I think the leader helps. If visibility is more than 3 ft I use a leader and swivel.
