Here is the link to the part of the forum about tying jigs. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/jig-t...-making-forum/ I am just getting into it myself. Read through the stickies they have lots of good info on where to buy from. My vise just came in a couple of days ago I am waiting on my order of tying materials which should be here soon.
Same here guys I'm willing to help if anyone needs it. It's very rewarding to catch fish on something you made. It will really feel good when you catch them on a jig you make and no one else is catch anything.

There are a bunch of great people on here that will help you out a lot. If your using the app go to main forum and go down to jig tying start in the sticky at the top. That is were I started. Then just start asking questions. I just started myself it’s a lot of fun. Good luck

One of the best references available is a book called 'Production Fly Tying' by A.K. Best. It is oriented on fly tying but all the information adapts easily to tying jigs. It for professional fly tiers but is in plain everyday language and covers all the basics of tying with lots of simple tricks thrown in. All the tools are explained with some recommendations (and not necessarily the most expensive.) He discusses about every material available. Mine is an old one but I repeatedly go to it for reference. Many books have been written by (and about) him but this is the one I would recommend. If you are ever near one of his lectures I would most certainly go.

Wow!!! Thanks for all the replies. I do have an addictive personality so yes I may be in trouble, heck that’s why I don’t turkey hunt because I don’t need another something to consume my thoughts. Deer and fishing already do that enough. Still gonna give it a shot though. Lol. Anyway thanks again everyone looking forward to a fun and exciting fishing season
James is the man, he will go out of his way to help you.

Y'all please stop!!!!!!! Y'all got me wanting to tie jigs and i already got too many projects, hobbies and jobs!
Cowboy you teasing me dude!! Seeing all those great fish catchin jigs just makes me itch to get after 'em. Cowboy can hook you up on the how to. Other great jig tiers here are Lowe175 and Litebite56! I've caught a lot of fish over the years with jigs from these three guys in AL!!!!
Thanks again everyone. Quick question on the jugs... do they have the collar to hold a soft bait below the head or does the lead stop right at the back of the head
Most will not have the collar, ( ball head ) mold. You can use with the collar, I’ve tied in the past with them but went and bought a ball head mold due to selling them. Attachment 285898Attachment 285899 this mold is a 1/32 & 1/24.

Try YouTube. Type in "tying a crappie jig" and you can get lost for hours.
Be careful with you tube. There's some videos that had bad ifo.
