what is everyone using? Thinking of getting a bass pro 200 mph suit.
I run a 100mph suit or Arctic armor. Both work well
Cabelas guidewear.
I'd go with gore Tex in whatever brand.
The "dry plus" and "bone dry" aren't as dry as advertised!
Cabelas guide wear and it is usually on sale this time of the year
im liking the price on that arctic armor! Is that stuff dry? and i've been looking at the cabela's stuff also.
I almost said I have the Guidewear, but I just double checked and mine is Guidegear I think I ordered it from Sportsman Guide when it was on sale. I spent 5 hours on a NC fishing pier today with 15-20 MPH winds and 30 degree temps. I was never cold and when I got out of the wind I had to start unbuckling to cool off. It has real thick knee pads so I think it was designed for ice fisherman to kneel on ice.
It is 100% waterproof, has bib overalls and tons of pockets.
It looks just like the Cabelas suit. Don't remember exactly how much I paid for it, but it was in mid 100's on sale
Pm g. He fishes in rain more than me. But mine keeps me dry. And is built tuff
Cabelas guide gear..what Crappie Lama said
For cold weather and rain....Artic Armor is hard to beat....warm and dry and if you fall in it will float you.

I have a Guidewear suit and love it. If purchasing again I would study and consider the Artic Armor since it floats.

If you can live with blue this is a heck of a deal on this guidewear. I have this jacket and it is warm for this kind of weather.
I have the basspro pro qualifier and it will keep you dry.Its not a winter suit, but I bought it a little bigger where I can layer underneath it.I use it all year long,it's a little how when it's warm out though.

Do any of these come in tall sizes up to 5xl,has anyone tried the striker suit
STRIKER ICE | Predator Jacket 2017
STRIKER ICE | Predator Bibs 2017
I have done a bunch of reading over the last couple of years on clothing to keep you warm when your not moving much. Reading the description on this suit it appears to be like a lot of the clothing I have found. It's actually designed for when you are active. That being said my question would be how warm would it be just sitting most of the day in colder weather.
If that stuff can keep the old bones of g warm I believe it’ll work!

This is the Artic Armor suit that I have Arctic Armor Mossy Oak Duck Blind Camo Suits
Got mine at Bargain Hunt and Military Surplus in Nashville.
Think no!!! Light insulation. Should be good thru the spring!!
Ok . Thanks . I'm looking for the removable liner style , but getting harder to find.
Cabelas Guidewear....But honestly for just light shower stuff I love frog togs. Trouble is they leak at seams if you have to sit crappie fishn in steady rain for long periods of time.
My 'toon only goes 14mph, so that 100mph and 200mph would be way overkill for me...lol

I bought the Frabill I3 suit this year and love it. It’s so warm I had to wear thinner base layers and less clothes under it to keep from sweating! I fished in 10* weather not counting the wind chill and never got cold. I had to quit fishing only because the trolling motor froze to its cradle when I moved to another spot! Lol. Would highly recommend and it’s not as expensive as other suits.
I haven’t been in heavy rain with it yet. I mainly bought it for warmth not necessarily rain gear. I plan on purchasing something like the BP pro qualifier rain suit for spring and summer wear and for rainy days. It is supposed to be waterproof though. If I ever get in rain with it I will post the results.
Thanks, I have the pro qualifier and it will keep you dry.I bought it a little bigger so I can layer underneath it in the winter if I decided to wear it when it's cold.I usually just wear my hunting bibs and jacket in cold weather,I have 2 sets of hunting bibs and jacket.

In the 100 mph suite do you have to ware layer under then to stay warm. I not much on warring tons of clothes
Your going to need some layers under the 100 mph, you won’t on the Cabelas guidewear extreme late season, if you get the heavy ones. Wore them in 16 degrees, 15 mph wind. Nice and toasty.

Depends on what your buying one of these suits for. Remember these are for extreme rain wear. The 100 mph, pro qualifier, cabelas, and any of the other quality Gortex suits are going to be fairly warm milder temps. When it gets as cold as it has been latley your going to have to layer some but not to extreme. Good fleece outfit under them will keep you plenty warm down into upper 30's. After that your going to have to go to heavier layers. Like Redge said the cabelas extreme late season is actually designed as is ArticArmor and some other suits for extreme cold weather.
I have the striker ice hardwater. Excellent suit and jacket has a zip in liner so it’s handy. Can be used in cool to cold weather. I also have 2 attic armour suits and like them also. Although I prefer the striker ice more, to me it is better designed. Running 52 mph in 22 degree weather for 30 plus minutes, never got cold.
Yes it’s water proof and wind proof. It will also float you if you accidentally fall in. They are pricey but worth every bit to me. If you’re waiting, try looking at red rock store online. They may have a sale late spring.
I was reading Ice fishing yesterday-- there was a link to Columbia -- their line of winter clothing is 100% waterproof with a lifetime Warranty including footwear... they are having a better than good sale now .... I just found that my warm hunting boots soles smelled like an old truck tire no matter if they were sprayed with scent killer. If there was two pennies to rub together I would have some boots ordered for my frozen toes
