Been snowing here all day. And it will stay temps dropping.
After I went to the Ky shindig and met all you wonderful folks and got to fish your awesome lake I told my self I could live here but how could I ever convince my wife but now I know because she loves the snow. But I wouldn’t have many friends their because we have moved to 3 different locations where it used to snow now it never does . Not for the snow just for other reasons.so I guess I just stay put . Really got some great fisheries with in an hour and half in every direction and some good folks here too! Just no snow!
Don't want no snow here perfectly happy to watch it on tv
No snow please or a couple 1 day drops for the kids.
Well, it turned to winter here, we have 1.5 inches of new snow and 10 day outlook is cold below 32 each day and windy. Merry Christmas to all. Fireplace is burning. :)
We have a light "dusting" up here in Lexington .... and temps aren't supposed to get much above freezing for the next week ... so it looks like we'll have a "White Christmas" after all, well more or less. :biggrin
saw a few flakes here, Louisville, last night. Today there's a shortage of milk and bread. :Rofl. Merry Christmas to everyone !!
White Christmas here in Northern Kentucky. Fireplace insert feeling good.
It was great to have y'all here for the ShinDig. We get snow most years. A few years back we had back-to-back 10-12" storms.
If you are worried about how we treat folks who move here, just as Cajun Fryer and BIGBADDAD. They both came here from IL and as hard as we tried to run them off, they stayed and have became pretty good buddies to all of us locals.
Western Ky is quickly becoming an Ill refugee camp!:biggrin
One thing about Kentucky if you don’t like the weather hang around a couple hours it will change lol

Hey.. I resemble that remark. I tell folks down here that I escaped from Illinois. :biggrin
My wife still reads the newspaper online from the area that we moved away from. I'm sorry to say that it's getting like a war zone up there. We still go back and visit family in the St. Louis area but I'm glad I don't live in the vicinity of our old home anymore.
I understand how you feel about their gun laws. I worked in East St. Louis, Illinois from 2005 until I retired and moved to Tennesee in 2014.
That city has the highest per capital murder rate in the country and it was a felony charge if you were caught carrying a gun to protect yourself. The state of Illinois did not issue any concealed carry permits at the time I lived there. This along with the rediculous taxes in Illinois were the biggest reasons I left.
You and a lot of other people

Not if you have a Ky. CCDW....This is how you do it.
HOWEVER, non-residents who have a valid CCW permit from their own state may have a concealed firearm in their car. By definition of the Act, this would include a loaded handgun in the passenger compartment of their car, but only in their car. So they can “carry concealed” in Illinois within their vehicle. When leaving the vehicle, the gun would have to either be left in the car:
- in a container, and
- either the container or the car itself must be locked
or, the gun would have to be unloaded and removed from the car.
Interestingly enough, this means that an Illinois resident who does not have a License to Carry is guilty of a felony for having a loaded gun in their car, but a non-resident is perfectly legal, as long as they have a permit from their own state. Many Illinoisans over the years have obtained non-resident concealed carry permits from states such as Utah and Florida, but that gives the Illinois resident NO right to carry in Illinois. The only ccw permits from other states that are “recognized” in Illinois are those of a non-resident, and then only for the express purpose of ‘carrying’ in their car while in Illinois.
Please note that the non-resident must have a ccw permit issued by their own state.
This is not legal advice. Please read the law yourself:
